Inclusive si analizamos solo presidentes con tendencias autoritarias podemos ver trayectorias económicas diferentes. En Venezuela, Chávez destruyó la economía. En Ecuador y Bolivia, Correa y Morales dejaron sus países mejor de lo que los encontraron (económicamente por lo menos)

🇬🇹Semilla & allies are remarkable. Refusing to give up the electoral arena they forced authoritarian forces to either allow competition or resort to brazen authoritarian moves. Then, when the gov chose the latter, they stayed the course, making these tactics unbearable costly.

@orcunselcuk I am not sure this is a "clear democratic breakdown." Bolivia has long lacked horizontal accountability and Evo broke vertical accountability by ignoring the 2016 referendum. Bolivia was competitive authoritarian at least since 2017. Democracy had already broken down.

This vote makes it official. 70000+ Salvadorans captured under Bukele's state of exception will be tried in groups of up to 900 people. And in the meantime they can be held for up to 24 months. It bears repeating: A popular authoritarian regime is still an authoritarian regime.
