Today the chair of the @Harvard #polisci dept sent out 2 memos. The 1st memo clarified the lengths to which the dept is going to ensure that grad students who are on strike with @hgsuuaw don't get paid. The 2nd formalized curricular changes that throw students under the bus.

Semilla—Bernardo Arévalo's party—has just been suspended. It's unclear exactly what the implications of this suspension are and in principle the suspension can (and should) be overturned by high courts. But as things stand, this is a *major* blow to democracy in #Guatemala .

Good news out of Guatemala. Supreme Court denies motions to further delay the June 25 vote certification. These motions were blocking the electoral authorities from making the runoff official. Likely still a lot more to come. But this is a major step in the right direction.
