@dvassallo Why have one? The number of traffic fatalities in Germany is much lower than the EU average. And most of these fatalities are not on highways but on country roads with oncoming traffic. If anything, other EU countries should adopt the German model.

@jordanbpeterson So where does that idea come from that solar panels can not be recycled? They are mostly glass and aluminium by mass, easily recycled. The rest is semiconductor grade silicon, which is a thin surface coating, which can be removed and reused.

@culpable_mink Could be worse... You can launch from Spain and then stay over water for 3000km before crossing the Sinai desert. Do this with a Falcon9 or similar rocket that does RTLS, and the views for all holiday destinations along the Mediterranean will be spectacular.

@_donalphonso Für den Preis einer Wärmepumpe und Vollsanierung auf KFW-Wasauchimmer-Standard bekommt man ein schönes kleines Haus irgendwo in Süd- oder Osteuropa. Da hat man auch mehr Rechtssicherheit. Erst wieder in Deutschland investieren wenn es wieder Investitionssicherheit gibt.

@stats_feed True. But Europe has enough area to be self sufficient. I live in Romania 🇷🇴. Lots of space, lots of sun. No NIMBYism. Enough to power most of eastern Europe. Also Spain, southern France, Sicily, Corsica. More cost efficient and more politically viable to build locally.

@HubertAiwanger Natürlich kann man Wasserstoff verbrennen und damit Wärme erzeugen. Das weiß jeder Schüler. Kümmern Sie sich um die Förderung der Herstellung und Speicherung von Wasserstoff aus PV-Überschussstrom in Bayern. Sonst sind solche Projekte nicht wirtschaftlich.

@BrianGitt Ammonia requires hydrogen, which can be cheaply produced from PV. Steel can also be made using H2. Cement just requires heat. Plastics is most difficult - CO2 capture + synthesis. Still doable. Why this emotional attachment to fossil fuels?

@peterrhague Using Energiya would have been a much better way to engage Russian rocket scientists than ISS. More useful to preserve knowledge, more useful in terms of mass to orbit for the US space program. But it would have been too good for Russia. That is probably why the US did not do it
