This is a brutal crime. It looks like pure sport, not even an attempted robbery gone wrong (not that would be an excuse). This is a 20-year old brutally murdering an 84-year old for the fun of it. My condolences to the victim's family.

Hard problem. Moderates are less motivated to run in SF: * Low chance of winning * Get personally attacked/demonized by radicals during campaign & once elected * Have better ways to spend time, unlike radicals who view School Board etc as stepping stone to political/union career

@MyTwolffamily I'm working on an app that will quickly calculate the value of goods you're about to steal, so you can get as close to the $950 limit as possible to maximize the efficiency of each trip. Just need to double check that if an item is on sale, it's the sale price that counts.

The most important reason to advocate liberal principles like free speech & due process is that they're essential to democracy & liberty. The 2nd most important reason is that if you abandon them when you have power, they'll sooner or later be used against you when you lose it.

This supposed academic freedom advocate at Penn openly calls to restrict free speech on campus, citing only two examples of “hate speech”: the “from the river to the sea” chant and calls for “intifada,” neither of which are explicit calls for “genocide” or are even necessarily

@jdcmedlock Coastal CA has the world's best climate, & the only other places that even come close tend to be in the Mediterranean or on the west coasts of continents in mid latitudes, due partly to prevailing wind/current patterns caused by the Coriolis effect.

I wish this tale of judicial system ineptitude culminating in the death of an innocent person still shocked me, but sadly it is now common in SF. The facts are appalling.

technology workers did not "extract" value from the bay area, they are what makes the bay area valuable. fight or flight is a choice we all have to make, but we are not the property of any government, and certainly not a local government that hates us.

@michelletandler Most millennial white men are perfectly normal, but there is a small subset of them that are the wokest of the woke. I would love to create a special utopia for them to inhabit exclusively so they can bask in their mutual moral superiority & leave the rest of us the fuck alone.

Major steps required to return SF to normality: * Vote in a majority of sensible Supervisors (at least 6 of the 11) * Appoint sensible people to the police commission so cops can reasonably do their jobs * Elect sensible judges who will hold people reasonably accountable

@jamiequint One of the many problem w/ our incredibly polarized society is that talismans have become so important to signify tribal identity. Many people realize the folly of mask-wearing in uncrowded outdoor areas, yet wear a mask anyway b/c they "don't want to look like a Trump voter".
