185 years ago, John Deere started his company with a plow, but 2022 will be the last year @JohnDeere will offer a traditional drawn moldboard plow, as there is a last call for the 3710. Obviously, not much impact from a business standpoint, but a major historical moment for Deere

It may not look like much to those that don’t use Operations Center, but all those green lines mean 2 things for Paulson Farms: 1) Dad stayed out late to get that last 70 acres in. 2) It takes a lot of rounds to do 70ac with an 8 row planter. #plant22

Pretty cool to see every tractor and truck lit up in Ops Center! We went and installed JDLink ‘M’ Modems in all the Quads, and @razortracking installed transmitters in all the support vehicles. These “universal” M modems can be easily installed in almost any age or color tractor.

Curious when the 24pk @JohnDeere @BuschBeer will be hitting the ground because all I’ve seen so far is 30 racks, and those aren’t distributed in MN (that I’ve ever seen.) Guess I’ll have to call Snowman, get in the Trans Am and head for the border. #thisplaceisaprison

The ST series strip till rig from @johndeere comes in 3pt and drawn units with liquid or a 10 ton dual dry bun setup. Row units are either dual coulter or shank, and row spacing can be 20, 22, and 30” (sugar beet crew rejoice!) and up to 16row 30” or 18row 20/22” #kibbleequipment

A new planter on the farm didn’t mean we got any new weather, but the rain does mean we have some time to go through this “new to us” 1765NT. We’ve been looking for a late model 8 row box planter for quite some time. They’re pretty few and far between these days.

@Deere_Salesman Caring about the end of the traditional JD plow has nothing to do with whether or not you sell or run or have even seen a plow. It’s only significant from the historical aspect that this form of plow has been an offering for every year of the company’s existence, until 2023.

@benz_miles @JohnDeere 2/2 edge &the whole sweep is hardened for 3-4x the life, some more than that. Highly recommend giving them a shot They’re mid $30s/ sweep, but so are most other super high wear sweeps & come in PermaLoc. They are legit I’ll stake my reputation on it. Plus vs standard 2000ac in MN

With tandem disks and VT tools that have blades mounted on a gang/arbor bolt, you have to angle the whole gang of disks to create the working angle of the blades. The more aggressive the disk, the longer...

@MorganMcNeal90 Actually it really is. A partnership with ETS means Deere can bring a really proven product to the market, and not have build every component from scratch. Then Deere can build from there and provide integration and the next level of innovation on that machine.

Compact high speed disks are individually mounted blades, so the shanks that they are mounted on can be twisted to give the blade it’s working angle. With this design, the frame can be much shorter front-to-back. Harder to explain than to show.

@jenalyson @tiktok_us The Deere team has already shifted the Instagram content more towards Reels, which is the gram’s way of trying to get traction back from TikTok, so the content is already there, it’s just that first TikTok as Deere emerges from the batcave that we’ve all been waiting for.

@MitchellNoll @razortracking @KibbleEquipment Yes, the M modem has a harness that connects to the convenience port for power, diagnostic port for CAN communication, and an Ethernet harness that can connect directly to a G5, or you can get an Ethernet switch to connect to Gen 4 or 2630 displays.

@steveconaway1 @WehrbeinKalby That’s a little loaded, but if the disk blades were the same diameter, spacing, concavity, and pitch, they should pull almost the same. It doesn’t take a lot of power to pull weight, it takes power to move dirt.

@FZR68 So it is actually a tungsten carbide bead that is fused so it doesn’t change the material properties of the steel it is attached to. The whole sweep is also hardened as part of the process.

Those standard Tru Widths in a 10” are going to struggle in sand, just like any other standard non-coated/non-hard faced sweeps. I’ve been part of extensive testing acres on the newest PLUS sweeps from Deere. They have a carbide

I talked to a few of the local distributors and they each said they only did 24s, but they’re getting close to moving on to the Deere “suits.” Must be just a distributor by distributor thing then. Southern MN and the Twin Cities I’ve never seen 30s of Busch Light.

@TheJustinCross @mmimick @JohnDeere The coulter can run a max depth of 6”, but it creates a 2” fracture below the set depth, so you could confidently say you’re getting fertilizer integration up to 8”. The shank can go 11” deep. Those two are interchangeable on the row unit itself.
