This year, I'm Thankful for the staff at Touro. In 24 hours, they were able to diagnose me with a rare autoimmune disorder (Guillain-Barré Syndrome) & get me started on treatment immediately. They saved my life & are the reason that a week later, I'm walking with a walker now.

It's all becoming so real -- discharge paperwork is in the works. As long as my bloodwork comes back fine in the morning (no reason to think it shouldn't), I just have sign-off sessions with my therapists tomorrow and then I'm free to go home after rounds on Friday!!!

Big day tomorrow. My therapy team meets in the morning to do a status update and determine my ultimate path for eventual discharge. I’ve put in some really hard work since I’ve been up here in in-patient rehab therapy. Keep your 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for positive news!

FYI -- just having a passport and a desire to leave the country doesn't mean you can move to a foreign country no problem. It's expensive, time-consuming and they have to want you to move there (ie. speak the language, make "investments" in the country, etc.).
