Uber driver — in complete and total seriousness— said a portal to hell exists somewhere in New Orleans, and damnit I’ve never been more proud of my city.

Not true. In 2010, he signed the biggest contract in NFL history with a record amount of guaranteed money. Brady choosing to take less money later in a 23-year career? That's up to him and the singular career that no one in NFL history has been able to replicate.
Reminder to Pels fans:
Don’t listen to the national media’s opinions on Brandon Ingram. If he played for a big market, you’d be reading a hundred stories on how he’s one of the league’s most underrated players.
The game’s the game.

Wait till the agents start hammering the GM. Pitts and Drake have careers and second contracts to get. There is a lot more at stake than just using top-10 picks as decoys. Players talk to each other, too.
This Lakers roster is like when sitcoms in the ’80s or ’90s would add a new kid or baby character as a last-gasp attempt at remaining relevant. But it just ends up being sad.

Oh man, I got scared for a minute, read too fast and thought you had beef with Jones and Cosby! Y’all are just about my three favorite writers going today. Strength and peace to you, Gabino.

Just talked to a diminutive open-mic comic while getting coffee. He asked what I did and I told him I was in sports journalism. Without skipping a beat, he said, “When you talk to Angel Reese, please tell her I am ready to be her short king.”
I worked for Disney for 20 years. For the last half of that, I also did basketball stuff. Eventually, the basketball stuff got to be a second full time job. And then, over time, the only full time job I needed.
It was a lot of work and sacrifice, but very happy to have done it.
“It was a hard couple of decades for Richie Tenenbaum. He never really found himself after leaving New York, instead drowning in a stream of high-caloric bad decisions.”

2011 damaged me so badly I could hardly enjoy this run because of the overarching sense of dread that it would all inevitably end in heartbreak. Winning it all literally means EVERYTHING.

Drew put it 100% on himself when it wasn't his fault to protect his guys. He had the contract and knew that was part of the job. True leader.
