I suggest not following Magic Leap's path of "revinventing the OS layer". Just sell the display. Let others figure out the software.
Let's return back to this tweet in 10 years. Bookmark it.

Yes, also requires almost no capital. A $450 laptop is all you need.
My hunch is that the only the losers are complaining. You’re not going to motivate them out of their rut.
@YayAreaNews
I went there for July 4th last year. Not a single American flag anywhere in the city except posted on buildings. Not one human at the fireworks show.
Pathetic and unamerican place.

Have you ever poured hot metal? Tiniest pieces glow red hot and appear bigger than they are.
Worry about the "waste" here should be at the bottom of all priorities.

If we combine the production rate of every single 3D printer today in USA + Japan + the West; it won't even make a dent in the numbers of bottle caps made alone by old school die-forming and stamping.
Please continue to talk about innovation in old methods, no one is.
@t3dotgg
Tbh Accessibility is overly respected. Pull down the rest of the society for a few crippled people that will do nothing good for the society.
We shouldn’t make their life difficult but we can’t make everything “accessible”.

Major one coming up: Relentless v. Department of Commerce
I heard the oral argument, it is going to be a bloodbath for the Gov. Finally, a proper crackdown on executive agency powers. Possibly the most important case in our lifetime.
Make energy usage a moral good.
Anon, your task in this life is to maximize energy usage. We have shit load of it, don't let the government tell you otherwise.
99.99999997% of the solar energy is "wasted" in outerspace. We capture a small fraction of it. No one is caring.

You and Destin (SED on YT) are the only ones talking about things that matter in manufacturing.
Meanwhile, media/colleges are obssessed with 3D printing. It is not going to solve the problem of making millions of things at scale (war time prod). Molding/Stamping/Forging ftw.

It's extremely easy to fabricate these chips. SQUIDs/Transmons with JJ's have a feature size of like 0.7um and you can use basic EBL to fabricate them with 1998 tech on 6 inch wafers. No physical maskset.
I wrote software that GDS -> EBL dosage for patterning QuICs.
An incredible show of thermodynamic lipidic mass that supports a 3 picowatt limbic system during long periods of non-activity. Occassionally, the frontal lobe sputters in strong ostensibly incessant bursts of 'thermodynamic' word salad that abruptly stops as it needs to recharge.

You won't find a sexy article on FT about injection molding, stamping, hot forming, cold rolling, die casting, investment casting, sheet metal bending, welding, etc.
But 3D Printing gets all the clicks:
@BasedBeffJezos
Okay, so you say it has JJ's which make it a non-harmonic oscillator. Fine, so doesn't that make it a transmon?
As some point, someone is going to have to "feed" information into this chip. It'd be nice to know that instead of vague verbage.
@daylightco
That's a great idea. Magic Leap had amazing hardware, but they tried to completely reinvent software from ground up. It was too ambitious and it failed spectacularly—software is hard. And they burned $1B investment from Google in the process. You guys have a great hw, not sw.

Worth watching Ken Burn's documentary, The War about WWII, and how America woke up in a matter of weeks. Housewives collecting bacon grease and 24/7 shifts everywhere. Mobilization details are not found elsewhere and as well crafted as The War.

I love this but objectively, it is a worst way to utilize capital. Efficient would be to build a factory, train those people, get them to produce value for the rest of the world.
They will squander these houses in a year or two.

I’m ok with some accessibility as long as it doesn’t pull everyone else down.
But lots of accessibility cult behavior explicitly wants to. It’s an unstoppable cult with no criticism.
It ratchets up. Like DEI, Climate change, etc.
@RealDianeYap
That made me question: What is the whole continent of Africa building that I use, watch, enjoy?
Population is growing incredibly fast. Resources are adequate. Yet, we see absolutely no contribution to the rest of the world.
Thiel points this out indirectly in his thesis about "Why don't we have ticker tape parades anymore?". That'd send half of American population in massive aneursym. How dare we praise *one* individual for their special ability!? But they have no problem with the reverse.

Why would you assume the least likely case? Why not assume what's more likely?
Most likely, it is not their property. I consider taking down American flag consitutes trespassing/vandalism or altering of property that they don't have the right to.

Another area neglected by the media is Textile manufacturing.
American has plenty of it, but ask young college students and they all want to get into 3D Printing.
Textile manufacturing is by far the most underrated. You need garments/bags/cloth during war time like crazy.
It’s amazing the level of pushback a simple statement like “students should graduate with git knowledge” creates.
X degree students should have basic tools knowledge (J/K/L). It’s irrelevant what J, K, and L are except that they’re basic tools of X trade. Git is such a tool.

I think anyone who does any kind of serious project work in college will inevitably have to learn some kind of version control. It was never "taught" to us but we learned it because our hard work made it necessary.
Solar-eco-cult gets all the credit for what's under the hood: Capital that puts enormous resources to bear the brunt of increasing demand and producing goods at scale, increasing supply, thereby pushing prices down.

Reparations are evil. It is deeply unfair and should be considered on the same level as stealing/robbery.

Sorry Andrew, EU is a slave slate of the United States. America will dominate the skies and the stars, you shall learn to cope with that hard truth. Now, please go make some more wine corks and olive oil.
So, the EU is saying that if you want to do business with us, you need to be responsible with your use of Earth's orbit, which, let's not forget, is a common resource and not the property of the US and China to split up as they see fit. And somehow, we're the unreasonable ones?

Linux sucks. > It's a kernel, originally written by Linus. Since then it's been beat up, punched around, tweaked, poked, prodded, manged, digested, spit out, stomped on, chewed up, tossed out, brought in, and otherwise manipulated by more other people than you could easily count.
