Entry-level salaries took off very soon after that. Of course it could’ve been the dot com boom or some other set of causes. But it might’ve been At least partly because of one loose-lipped hiring chair, me, and an FTC official in January 1998. 8/fin

@nicholas_bagley I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t praise the work of a scholar who, say, advocates for the imprisonment of people in an interracial marriage. There is a line. You just don’t think Vermeule’s extreme homophobia crosses it. And that says something about the hierarchy of your own values!

@AdrienMatray How is this an unintentional error? You're directly shrinking the pre-treatment coefficients to hide evidence of pretrends.

The Judicial Conference of the United States today strengthened the policy governing random case assignment to limit the practice of “judge shopping,” when litigants strategically choose where to file cases in hopes of being assigned a certain judge.

Points for "vassal of horror" as well as "I am at every disadvantage," as well as "and I wholeheartedly believe the bug is aware of this". Beautiful writing! I hope the student makes it.

Hunter Biden has joined meetings with President Biden and his top aides this week at the White House, four people familiar with the matter tell my colleagues, who are told the reaction from some senior White House staff has been,  “What the hell is happening?”
