@stepville I just got your book in the mail, tonight. Reading the first chapter now. From this day forward I will write in my syllabi that students can bring their kids to class. Sometimes students sheepishly ask me if they can bring their child to class. I always say “Yes..Absolutely”

I have to face 3 classes of first year students today. Majority women of color. The day after it's announced that a 19-yr old woc was strangled in a parking garage on-campus. I don't know what I'm going to say. I don't know what there is to say.

This is amazing…I taught at @EmoryUniversity in the ‘90s. Most of the students were only interested in their GPA to get into law or medical school. None of them would have protested anything at this crucial time in the academic year
