Coming to you live from the vaccination clinic at the Agriplex and man to I ever have to tip my hat to
@MLHealthUnit
and to all of the staff and volunteers here. Theyโve blown my mind in terms of how friendly and positive and well run it is here. Kudos to all of them!
1,731 Ward 11 residents believed in a poor kid from the east end with no political or union affiliation who brings it every single day. Thank you to every person who made this wild ride possible, with

leading that pack. Congrats

Little man woke up this morning with a cough and was unable to go to daycare. We booked a Covid test online at 9:20 for 9:45 and were out of Oakridge Arena by 10:05. All the credit in the world to

and
@MLHealthUnit
and
@MLPS911
for running a well oiled machine
Iโve lived in Old South and been welcomed with open arms since becoming engaged in June 2011. Today I filed my nomination papers to begin my campaign as City Councillor for my wonderful neighbourhood. Ward 11 residents, I will step up for you every single day

Having worked in bars as long as I did and dealing with people who thought the law didnโt apply to them as long as I did, I am calling BS on this version of the events that occurred.

I remember watching the season 6 finale of Homeland and thinking โthereโs absolutely no way that it would be this easy to overwhelm the defenses around US government key officials.โ
Turns out they were pretty accurate after all. So scary.
Iโd like to extend a sincere thank you to
@ldnontmayor
and city council for choosing me for the 2021 Mayorโs honour list. Your recognition of my efforts to help others and assist in making London a better place for as many people as possible is greatly appreciated and flattering
I love all the city councillors I know but I really hate the message we are sending in cancelling an already approved and budgeted pay increase for the cityโs lowest paid employees, but approving spending $200K to offer free wi fi for those watching hockey, a sport of privilege
And for all those who were wondering, here is the story about our secret fundraiser:
Thank you so much to
@MeganatLFPress
for being able to share it so eloquently - youโre the best!
And thank you to the countless generous donors who made this possible

Yes. I have 3 kids. When 2 were in daycare and 1 was in kindergarten and needing before and after school care (school is 9-3:30), we were looking at $3,100 in after tax wages to have care for our three children.
Given how many people are drinking $9 beers at picnic tables in converted parking lots further up Richmond, it really feels like we are leaving money on the table not turning dundas place into a giant outdoor patio. If we spent all the money on it then this seems a way to use it
My wife got to see her dad for the first time today since March 22. Sheโs been helplessly listening to his decline over the phone since. We are eternally grateful for the

Hey

parents - I find the City of London website VERY difficult to navigate in terms of open swims and scheduling for our family pass. So, I took the time and made a handy chart to print and put on the fridge. Download it here:

Hey
#LdnOnt
- we need to cut off this silly narrative that homeless hubs will BRING crime to neighbourhoods.
It's already there.
Here's the crime map for 2023 for 1 mile radius of 705 Fanshawe Park Rd W. And this is only for crimes that do get reported to LPS:
This.
I used to sleep in vehicles and couch hop at various times in my childhood.
Privileged folks were afraid of me too and made me feel very unwelcome, but I still turned out pretty okay.
These people the hubs will help deserve the same chances I got.

I just graciously received 1 hour of

This one hits close to home.
I also had meningitis at 2, a year or so before Eduardo.
My momโs friendโs kid got it around the same time.
He became deaf as well.
I got lucky to have minimal long term effects.
This is amazing to watch
"Eduardo, Eduardo, Eduardo"
This is the moment Eduardo hears his mother's voice for the first time in 35 years.
As a two-year-old boy he contracted meningitis and suffered complete hearing loss in both ears.โค๏ธ๐ญโค๏ธ๐ฏ๐ง๐ท

As an employment counsellor I can confirm that this cut does hurt those folks. If I give someone a bus ticket to come job search online at office then the govt now expects them to declare that as income. Zero dignity
My kids are sacrificing a lot with me on the campaign trail almost every night. We only get 18 summers with them. So when you you have a million things to do and your 5 year old asks you to snuggle, the answer is always yes. Even when they fall asleep.

Any parent whose child is currently being bullied like my oldest is - my heart goes out to you.
Because sheโs the size of a grown woman at almost 10, her bully has decided to torture her psychologically instead, which at a vulnerable age is so much worse

, this is why we canโt have nice things. Our economy canโt survive by offering jobs in which you require post secondary plus ten years experience and pay a dollar an hour more than minimum wage as your starting range, in order to maximize profits for those at the top.
As a candidate, I spoke with multiple downtown business owners who mentioned picking up human excrement and using buckets to wash urine out of their doorways in order to make their businesses accessible. We need to expand, not reduce downtown public bathroom access.
Two city councillors are pushing back against planned reductions to public washroom hours downtown, saying it would harm Londonโs most vulnerable and act as a barrier to core revitalization

A year ago yesterday, 5 months of hard work alongside 41 friends and with the support of almost 200 different individual donors, I stepped waaaay outside of my comfort zone and got the support of 1,731 neighbours towards being the change I wanted to see in my area. /1

The neighbourhood in question does not have people wandering around and lurking like downtown. It will bring more crime and people will feel unsafe. Bottom line, itโs unfortunately a bad location. Also, itโs attached to a bar. Is that a wise idea?
