Our MLPS family would like to thank everyone for their messages of support and best wishes for our staff. Our thoughts are with one our Paramedic's who suffered a medical emergency while on shift.
32 years serving his community, we wish our Deputy Chief Al Hunt all the best as he retires from MLPS. Al has worked as a dispatcher with London CACC, then as a Paramedic in London. He was in London’s first ACP class. You have taught us all a lot Al, Thank you for your service.
Our MLPS gator was deployed today!
We were able to access and assist a person who fell while walking through the Fanshawe Conservation Area, and was 1 km from the nearest roadway.
Attention all Ontario fire services, please see the video we made to help you understand some of the Paramedic changes you may see on calls. We hope you enjoy it as we work together to benefit our patients.

It truly is a special moment when a cardiac arrest survivor is reconnected with the responding crew & they are able to sit down for a coffee and chat. Thank you Chris for stopping by, and a huge thank you to Chris’ wife Shannon for performing CPR until our crews arrived on scene!
We are so proud of the hard work and professionalism that our frontline paramedics and MLPS staff tirelessly provide. We are here for our community 24/7, 365.

Jason Pook stopped by to thank MLPS Advanced Care Paramedic Kristin Smukavic for care she and her partner provided during a medical emergency.
David is a cardiac arrest survivor who came to visit us today and present us with this picture which he has titled “coming undone”. A powerful picture signifying how his life came undone, and was tied back together by our skilled Paramedics.

Cardiac arrest: Bystander CPR, 911 called, directions to closest AED, AED used, Paramedics arrive, Stabilize & Transport to ER, Paramedic Supt. retrieves AED & puts spare AED in place. AED data sent to cardiac center, expert patient care. Patient lives. Proud of our PAD program.
Please join us in welcoming our newest MLPS paramedics! These smiling faces are eager to start providing emergency care and support for our Middlesex-London community. 💙🚑
Please do not be afraid when we show up looking like this. We wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect us, so that we can continue to care for our community.

Did you know that after every cardiac arrest call our Paramedics receive this CPR report. It is used for reflective practice which is so important. The Hawthorne effect is strong. Since we started in 2012, we have noticed a huge improvement in our CPR performance.

Why do we advocate early CPR/AED?? Ask Dave. Dave was playing hockey when he suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest.
Today it was our pleasure to meet Dave & thank members of

SERT & Police for their lifesaving actions prior to our paramedics arriving.

Cardiac Arrest Stats: Did you know in 2017 our bystander CPR rates were 48% for witnessed cardiac arrests? In 2018 this number jumped to 67%. Bystander CPR is an important link in the chain of survival!
Our MLPS HRT Paramedics continue to assist alongside our pre-hospital partners in transferring COVID-positive patients in need of intensive care.

The importance of PEEP while using your BVM. We demonstrate this with a set of hog lungs. See how fast the lungs deflate without PEEP, and see how the lungs stay open with PEEP. Do you use PEEP? Paramedic service training continues.
