Kids take home a 2 pocket folder. One side is for decodable type work that has been worked on in class (code pack, UFLI reading package, sentence strip, etc) so they can read independently and the other side is for a ‘home reading’ book that we asked families to read together. 3

Here's a fun way to blend sounds together - all you need is a toy car/ something to "drive" along the road to blend the sounds to make the words. To help blending, make sure the first letter is a continuous sound (f, l, m, n, r, s, v, z).

@ColinDMello Does he realIze that the daycares that will be at 100% are for mostly children 4 and under? As that’s what they’re used to having during the school year.... we’re going to need to add MORE childcare space if school isn’t 5 days a week.

Took a step out of my comfort zone tonight & attended a jr/int book study “Shifting the Balance”. It was well worth my time! Teach reading to grades 4-8? Come join in! The book is a free download w/ OCT library. Well worth an hour every 2 weeks! @ONlit_social @lcfettes

I've been wondering - Can you explain the difference between small group instruction and intervention? A teacher pulls a small group during the literacy block, is that a small group or is that an intervention? Does it matter to have the label or am I just getting into semantics?
