I did a remix of @azlenelza 's exploration on expressive typography in Korean. The fun challenge was that (to my knowledge) there isn't a variable font in Korean, because the language has too many character variations.

One thing about the Korean language is that there are no uppercase characters. "HEY" "hey" "Hey" give different vibes. You can make them even more expressive: "HEYYYYYY" "heyyyyy" "heyYYyyYy" Doesn't quite work like that in Korean. Maybe something like this is actually needed!

When you write, you set the rhythm and tempo to your thoughts. And friction kills that creative output. It takes you out of the moment. I wrapped @pacocoursey ’s text editor in the new tab for Chrome, so you can write quickly, whenever the thoughts spontaneously arrive.

Most student designers struggle with portfolio advice like this: 1) Half the designers they respect tell them to focus on the craft. 2) The other half says explaining the process is more important. I imagine it depends on the company and one's strengths.. but it's still hard.

I’ve been seeing lots of designer portfolios where visual design is really lacking. These days, whatever version designer you’re calling yourself, you have to be able to execute polished visual design, you know, form follows function. That’s like the wax-on, wax-off part.

Color perception is relative — so I imagine for design tools, picking a background color is a super intentional decision. @Figma used to be #E5E5E5 , now #F5F5F5 . @Sketch uses #F9F9F9 . @Framer uses #EEEEEE . Can anyone explain to me what kind of thinking goes into such decisions?

Waterfall charts are great at showing what caused metric change from time A to B. But it can't show trends, and time A or B might be at an unusual spike/trough. Line charts are great for trends & abnormalities, but bad at seeing the cause. So what if we combined both?
