@jamewils If you are in Bangalore for only 2 days, stick to the MG Road Area (MG, Brigade and Church Street). That has always been and still is what Bangalore is. People in your TL staying in suburbs might pitch for their place, but it does not come close to the CBD.

This hyper policing and exclusionary thinking is actually the basis on which our gated communities and RWAs are founded. So, this isn't new. It's how our so called "middle class morality" is wired. We are now giving them further ammunition to turn people against each other. 5/N

Yes, mixed member system like New Zealand should be good. Maintain constituency-legislator connect of FPTP, and do justice to vote share by having some PR seats (maybe 1/3rd). I would say 500-550 FPTP (like now) and 150-200 PR seats for Lok Sabha.

But if we think beyond the specific case, the need for having strong evidence and inadmissibility of statements made outside court, commissions of enquiry, are just procedures, which protects accused against state.

Very useful thread on reading poll results in the US Elections. We ignore the 'undecided' column in poll results so often, to our peril.

1/x The polls weren't wrong, you just read them wrong. The spread in a poll matters some. But a 50-47 lead (+3) is FAR MORE ROBUST than a 46-40 lead (+6) People see a poll avg at 46-40, and when the result is 47-49, they say "pOlL wAS WrONg" From +6 to -2?!? Off by 8!!! Nope.

@Aakar__Patel Yes, the CAA-NRC protests, and even other ongoing global movements, do have parallels with 1968 Paris.

@DilliDurAst @RanaAyyub 2026 probably. Halfway through his 3rd Term, Narendra Modi, having crossed 75, may step down and get Amit Shah to take over as PM.
