I am a viral immunologist. My lab studies the interplay between the antiviral immune response, host metabolism, and viral pathogenesis. We aim to understand this crosstalk in both HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2 infections.

Hello everyone! I’m Dr. Harry E. Taylor and my lab is at SUNY Upstate. We study the interplay between host immunometabolism, pathogenesis, and viral replication (e.g., HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2).

Am I the only one that still users one of these? My colleagues tease me about this and say I should upgrade to an automatic cell counter, but are they great for counting PBMCs accurately by eliminate granulocytes and such? 🧐
@charliekirk11
You are conflating issues here. Biological factors both genetic and environmental that influence sexual identity have nothing to do with women's rights. It would be wise to educate yourself before you speak on such matters.
@yodifiji
The vaccine is NOT based on the MODERNA platform. Scripps scientists took a different approach that was pre-COVID-19 and still achieved this level of efficacy in inducing antibodies that could POTENTIALLY protect against HIV. They are now partnering with MODERNA.
@ClarkBTV
Dude you looking pretty bad here. You just can't comprehend how much money Blake makes. By comparison, at this rate an average brother making 50k a year would only be paying $375 a month. This is not hurting Blake.
Our latest work is available online! We show that mTOR signaling in CD4 T cells is a major determinant of susceptibility to HIV-1 infection.

Well the kid happens to have a wealthy dad and the kid should have the same quality of life. These ballers know how this works. You do the crime you pay Dime? Ha

Hi All! This is such an inspiring thread! I am a Virologist/Immunologist hybrid. I am currently on the faculty at Northwestern, but moving to SUNY Upstate next month! My lab studies aim to harness host metabolism to limit HIV persistence. I am recruiting new lab staff! Please RT
@neurodevKathy
“DON’T LET PEOPLE LEAVE THE LAB…” This really made me cringe and sounds really gatekeeper-ish. Not sure if this was intentional or not, but every situation is different. Is the the case for the over achiever that already has 5 or so great papers published? 🧐
I am happy to share that our latest work is available online! After a lot of hard work, we finally elucidate how CD4 T cell metabolism is linked to susceptibility to HIV-1 infection.

The point is the child is entitled to the same standard of life as the wealthy parent. It's that simple. Now Blake is a professional basketball player who travels all the time but can be traded at anytime. That is not a stable environment and therefore he has a poor case.

I am over the moon right now! I am extremely proud that my Research Tech has decided to pursue her graduate studies in my lab. It’s a testament that mentorship matters and can have an impact on the diversity of the scientific workforce.

Your colleague, Matt Hitchings, an infectious disease epidemiologist and professor of biostatistics at the University of Florida, told the Times that it seems that sections of the analysis were omitted because they did not fit the narrative the surgeon general wanted to push. 1)

I love to pop bottles in the lab in celebration of our scientific achievements, but when your initials are on the bottles in the lab, you have reached a different level of responsibility and accountability. It’s both exhilarating and scary.

You are confused. Marvin is not running the ball or throwing it. You also had gaps on defense that were exploited. You guys lost and that’s it. Blame your players for not having the heart to play this game. It’s pretty weak.
I am so very proud of my graduate student Yétúndé Kayode for presenting our work like a well-seasoned scientist. It is great to have my students attend

Immunologist and virologist here! That is factually incorrect! Corona viruses are cleared after recovery. These viruses are not retroviruses (e.g., HIV) that remain latent and detectable after infection.
@DrEliDavid
Really? What if it’s a 1 hour flight? What about a 12 hour flight? How about comparing apples to apples and compare level of carbon emissions per unit time? Is this how you “analyze” data? In an uncontrolled fashion?
I am very proud of

Formula: (PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK − Missed FG − Missed FT - TO) / GP. It’s great because the negative stats like turnovers (which CC has a lot of) are subtracted from the positive stats like points (which CC has a lot of). It also factors in the number of games played.

Okay both Gates and Rogan are college dropouts, but Gates is a genius. He also has advisors that are among the most talented people in the world. I think it’s more surprising that anyone listens to anything g Rogan has to say, but then again…

The Terrain theory has been refuted by a litany of data largely with studies supported by criteria that established causal relationships between pathogens and disease.

That is false. The number of cases indicates the level of community spread of this virus. Asymptotic cases are able to spread the virus to susceptible and vulnerable people. Stop spreading misinformation.

Man this happened to me in grad school. I used flickt’ed in a sentence and the conversation came to a grinding halt! I had to quickly recover and replace with afflicted. 😂 For that split second I felt like my several layers of polish had betrayed me and I was naked and exposed.

In the United States, the life expectancy for men in 1920 was around 53.6 years. For women, it was 54.6 years. Skin cancer is diagnosed mostly in people over 65 years. 🧐

I think top tier coaching can also pull out max potential in a kid. That’s what it’s about. Not what he did in high school, but about the kids ceiling for being a great player.

Yet you should be credited for an assist when they do? Seems like you gotta take the bad with the good. I guess you shouldn’t be credited with an assist when your teammate catches a poor pass as well? These things are 2 difficult to gauge. This has not been an issue for others.

As a trained virologist and immunologist that has worked in a non-profit capacity I can confirm that you are absolutely wrong about links between deaths and the COVID vaccine.

Sure there is…many cases of HIV transmission via blood transfusion have been documented before testing of the blood donor supply. Also, drugs that specifically target HIV prevent HIV-associated death.

There is no comparison between Coach Sanders and Reed. First of all, Sanders came in and despite the challenges built a winning program. Reed trashed the program and administration before he won a single game.

Lab attendance policy? What’s that? Some weeks my students will work much more than 40 hrs in a week and other weeks they will work much less. Sometimes they are toiling away at the bench and others they are writing or catching up on the literature in a cafe. 1)

No. Real men cook and clean with their wives. Affluence has nothing to do with manhood. I know many real men that can’t afford to hire someone to do all the cooking and cleaning. I know wealthy men that are not worth a dime in areas that count.
