13 hours ago, a new list has been created by RobTop, testing out the reward system for Lists. The exact rewards aren't known, although they're speculated to be diamonds and keys.
This also confirms RobTop hasn't sent out 2.2 for review.
In Update 2.2, RobTop sneakily updated the Twitter logo, but not to the X logo.
This was done as the old logo design that was used was from before Geometry Dash had even released (2010-2012).
Out of nowhere, RobTop and the mod team has started to update levels by removing well-known secret ways without any prior announcement. (With some levels that haven't been updated since 2.0)
This might potentially spark the end for secret ways in rated levels.
Due to 1.4 data corruption, Dark Tramuia by Darnoc has a freely rotated spike from before custom rotation was added. This is the second to last spike on the top at the end of the level.
In the Update 2.2 trailer uploaded half an hour ago, you can quickly see a glimpse of the bottom row for the amount of pages the cube icon would have.
If all pages (except the last) are full, it would mean there would be between 469 - 504 total cubes in Update 2.2.
It's known that ViPriN had a Swing as his icon in GD World, however people missed the fact that the Swing's Icon ID was set to 133. In the 2022 GD Lite update, when Rob leaked all the icons, there were only 33 Swings. Did Rob really add 100 new Swings, or is ViPriN trolling us?
Recently, a player named Plimbus had accidentally achieved the world record for completing the most Extreme Demons in a week without realizing.
She had completed 34 Extreme Demons within that timeframe, demolishing Patrick61804's impressive former record of 22 Extreme Demons.
During the production of Bloodbath, Tartarus had actually been started in secret. There's multiple pieces of evidence for this, which is in a reply under this post.
There existed a 1.4 level called Eternal Night, it was said to be harder than The Hell Zone by the one person who played it and took this screenshot. This is the only screenshot of it and we have no idea what was in the level
If Technical didn't beat Zodiac 2 hours before the verification of Thinking Space it would've been the hardest level ever beaten legitimately at the time
Nine Circles fact
#2
!
Nine Circles most likely got rated due to Viprin sending it to RobTop on TouchArcade, he mentions Zobros being an "unknown creator" at the time
"crazyfuck" is the only documented case of RobTop fully deleting an account. It was created in 2.0 and it got banned and deleted in 2.1. There are also some leaderboard records from this account, all of which belong to a blank user nowadays.
With the latest derate of a stolen level, RobTop has disabled and purged the entire account.
This is unlike before as stolen levels that were rated were usually deleted with no further punishment.
Back on 20th June 2023, RobTop mysteriously commented on what we knew at the time as ID -8. We now know this to be him testing comments on Lists, as negative level IDs are used as list IDs.
RobTop recently dropped a shadow-update to the Account Manager page: Adding a logo and a button that allows you to delete your own account apparently?
This is new, will be testing this out.
According to the underrated non-demon spreadsheet, ~9.63% of insane 8/9 stars are considered demon worthy, or roughly 1 in 10.
The most egregious out of these can go up to insane demon difficulty.
As of just an hour ago, Geometry Dash has officially hit 10 Years Old according to the Google Play Store!
In the Page Source for the games' listing, a Unix timestamp can be found. Converting the timestamp gives us the exact release date for the game.
Happy Birthday GD!
For some peculiar reason, the limit that used to be enforced for your stats has been increased dramatically to 2147483647, replacing the original limit of 16777215.
EDIT: While it's possible Rob hasn't sent it out, it's also possible he has. He could have a test server where he added this feature a while ago and just decided to push it to the servers now. It's too late to delete the tweet now and reword it. We apologize for overexaggerating.
13 hours ago, a new list has been created by RobTop, testing out the reward system for Lists. The exact rewards aren't known, although they're speculated to be diamonds and keys.
This also confirms RobTop hasn't sent out 2.2 for review.
During 1.1 to 1.7, RobTop (under the username Zhen) posted 20 replays on Everyplay. Some of these have reuploads available on YouTube, however a bunch of them are sadly lost to time. If you have any of these downloaded, please let us know!
NePtunE started building another level after ToE II v2 in December 2014, the level was named "Abaddon", with the image on the left being the only SS of the level.
He clarified in one of his videos that it would be "Coming Soon", the level has since never seen the light of day...
Honestly there's nothing inherently interesting or obscure about map packs, but RobTop really loved NePtunE's v2 levels so much, he dedicated 3 out of 14 map packs to him at the start of 1.6
Despite Clutterfunk v2 having been deleted all the way back in 2017 by RobTop, it still remains the most disliked level the game has ever seen.
So far, no level has exceeded 100,000 dislikes... that will soon change however.
KeiAs (also known as gw lightning) would use his position on the leaderboard to bring attention to Stereo Demoness, nearly 5 months before he became the first victor. Later on he would try and bring attention to both his own and others levels via this method.
Ever since Update 1.1*, players have been able to comment on other users levels.
Here is the total amount of comments that has ever been published to the servers:
They patched an INTENTIONAL secret way on Ruined Planet, a level that hasn't been updated since 1.6, by adding an invisible sawblade...
Thank you?
(Repost due to accidental quote retweet)
Source: The server now returns 2.2 profile info. RobTop, ViPriN and AutoNick all have 18 moons, which is why it's safe to assume that is gonna be the amount you can get from official levels.
SpikeMania is a level that got rated due to the creator anwsering a riddle
MonkeyJay4Ever was on a twitch stream when RobTop joined and gave a riddle, and because he was the first one to anwser, he was rewarded
The source for this fact is an explanation level he made, ID 22329095
Triple spikes are tighter than they seem, with a 3-frame gap on 60fps to make the jump (50ms of error).
Despite these, you have a visual queue of when to jump making it far easier to time compared to a blind timing.
Congrats on 500,000 subscribers
@TheRealGDColon
, here's a depressing fact for y'all!
Out of the first 500,000 levels ever upload to Geometry Dash (ID's 1 - 500000), only approx. 79,270, or just 15.9% of levels still remain on the servers to this day.
Did you know that there have been a total of over 550 rated levels in the history of the game that are no longer rated, and 0 of them are Buff This by BoyOfTheCones?
The first ever person to use a custom song was citrus, who managed to get the full version of clutterfunk by replacing song files in early 1.4, and he made a level with it
There were three former gauntlet levels that were quickly replaced with other levels, those being:
- Blade by PotatoBaby (Removed via creator request)
- Vulgarity by Creatorlings (Not suitable for the Time Gaunelet)
- Dangerous Spikes by DeCody (Too hard for the Spike Gauntlet)
It's possible to obtain stars on certain levels that were formerly rated. By completing them, then saving and loading your account, you will get the stars (and demons) you would like if the levels were still rated. This bug was recently fixed for Update 2.2.
Funnily enough; Mohammed Ja'kalem Al-Abdula, one of the most notorious people in the GD community, had actually been exposed/talked about by TheMuteTroll back in 2014.
@TheRealGDColon
We've tried helping him as much as we could with research in the past, and it always ends up with fatal mistakes slipping past in his videos no matter what. It's extremely tiring seeing those...
My Heart, and 4 other songs were added to the NCS music library yesterday without any public announcement, yet Music Library v117 isn't publicly released yet which is odd.
trumpsta by Player is the only rated level in the game to have its game version set at being made in 1.0.
At three points in GD, all levels gameVersions were force updated to the latest versions: 1.2, 1.5, and 1.6. To have a level with a gameVersion less than that you need to...
Around 176 days since 2.2, someone has unlocked the Boom! death effect. (All Tier 2 shards)
Another Fact: If you have 9/10 of every shard maxxed out, you have a 10% chance of getting a shard and 90% chance of getting orbs. (Weekly reward chests are an exception at 100% 2-shards)
Between 28th March 2014 -> 15th April 2014, every comment posted after LevelID 170000 had a missing timestamp.
This caused all affected comments to display an impossibly high timestamp when they were made publicly visible in Update 2.0
Full explanation in replies...
Today Geometry Dash World's "Featured" list decided... "Yea, lets copy the Creator leaderboard and break as well"
Just.. an average day on a game broken as this. :D
The original upload was archived through an old save; Tartarus (titled Silent Akbar) can be briefly seen in his created levels on his Bloodbath verification; a reupload called "DashieGames" which is slightly modified from the original.
For a few hours, certain easy demons like Death Moon and Problematic were randomly set as extreme demons before being fixed by RobTop.
This is likely not due to any botting attack, and more likely due to a bug occurring when RobTop reverted the levels after they were made free.
FUN FACT:
LIMBO was not supposed to be an extreme demon. It was first supposed to be an ominous floating chrome orb. Production was however halted after it started telepathically communicating with people.
A former star grinder named Leksitoo was briefly
#1
in the Leaderboards on June 28th, 2016. This was due to Michigun being auto-banned from the leaderboards for hitting 35,000 stars, which was the star cap for the time.
The star cap was raised and Michigun was quickly unbanned.
She has recently surpassed Patrick61804's Monthly WR just hours ago, now sitting at 68 extremes beaten in just 19 days.
If she keeps up this pace, she could potentially surpass UltracauaHD's legendary Yearly WR of 365 Extreme Demons.
Unsurprisingly, the most copied level in the game is "Deadlocked copyable" by II Corgi11 II, with over 33,000 levels on the server linking back to the original ID.
This makes the level more copied than levels like Bloodbath, ReTraY, and even Stereo Madness.
The oldest, still preserved comment, comes from a deleted yet unknown level only known as ID: 1945
Not as obscure as the first profile post as this was recently discussed in a popular Spanish video released by
@GersonGaming
, with this being first discovered in 2022 by Cvolton.
As Geometry Dash World is on an older version of 2.2, the levels that are currently made daily or weekly are from pre-2.2
Any Update 2.2 level selected as daily/weekly, or any level that update whilst being selected would make the level unable to load whatsoever on GD World
Update: We've managed to find all videos up to "A (id 6940)... Im dizzy now". We will post one video per day (in order) on the Restoration Union YouTube channel. Stay tuned!
During 1.1 to 1.7, RobTop (under the username Zhen) posted 20 replays on Everyplay. Some of these have reuploads available on YouTube, however a bunch of them are sadly lost to time. If you have any of these downloaded, please let us know!
Due to how many songs RobTop had to import for t+pazolite, not all of the songs were imported by the time the reveal video premiered.
This caused his addition to the library to be delayed by approx. ~6 minutes. (This being recorded 2 minutes after the premiere concluded).
@_Xanii_
@bluskystv
No need to worry so much Xanii, we promise not to mention your old usernames BestMan11 (or shiversplayz on Twitch) and the time you mentioned how you "ACCEDENTLY DISLIKED RUBS COMENT" over 7 years ago... ;)
Anyways, back to regular fact posting for now so we don't scare you.. :)
Small little fact for tonight:
When asked, KaotikJumper stats that the main inspiration for his infamous level "Death Corridor" was "Treasure Mine" by
@majacko2
To absolutely no ones surprise, it doesn't work yet. ("-1 days" until account deletion)
This feature was most likely added due to EU regulations requiring the ability to delete your account.
RobTop recently dropped a shadow-update to the Account Manager page: Adding a logo and a button that allows you to delete your own account apparently?
This is new, will be testing this out.
The first and hardest HazardSector level had a secret way, while the other ones were most likely verified legitimately as they weren't too big of an issue for players back then (SuperSNSD managed to beat most of them soon after their release)
The record for the shortest rated level of all time easily goes to a now derated level named "Nightmare level 1" by Bart14gp.
It was a 2-SECOND LONG UFO Challenge released just after Update 1.5 had came out.
Why was it rated? We have no clue, ask Robert. :D
In 1.9 for almost the entire day of February 13th 2015, the creator leaderboards looked like this. A bug caused every user to appear to have 0 creator points.
Currently 7,520 users have creator points and a rated level, with 611 of them being unregistered users.
Over the next 10 years of this games existence, maybe that number will double... who knows...
The most disliked comment on the most commented level (despite experiencing multiple comment purges) is held by IIG4ELII with their comment "ez" sitting at 208 dislikes.
On 28th July 2017, the Geometry Dash Everyplay page was hacked and edited to say some... questionable things.
This was thanks to RobTop re-using the same password on multiple websites at the time, well done Rob.
Some facts about Account Deletion:
- Works exactly like how Rob purges accounts (Has the oversight of Lists not getting deleted)
- Difference is your email gets removed, meaning you can make another account under the same email after
- Still doesn't work automatically yet. :)
To absolutely no ones surprise, it doesn't work yet. ("-1 days" until account deletion)
This feature was most likely added due to EU regulations requiring the ability to delete your account.
Currently, leaderboard moderators are unable to moderate Platformer leaderboards, which explains the abundance of illegitimate records submitted.
Even if a cheater gets leaderboard banned, their times end up remaining on platformer level leaderboards unless RobTop intervenes.
Supposedly the process of deleting your account takes 7 days, but we're not sure of how much content it deletes from your account as there's only a handful of cases within the games' history where a registered account was completely erased.
WaterPLE managed to copy levels back in 1.6, before the copy button was introduced in 1.7. He copied some popular levels and made autos of them, but by far the most intresting one is Alphabet Y. He copied the 1.6 version, which would have been completely lost without his auto.
...several bugs: Most notably trying to change the BG and Ground colours on triggers will literally crash the game, which was fixed in Update 1.02.
So tl;dr RobTop featured a 1.0 level in 1.6 made by a guy who pirated the game. Well done.
Primary Maze is the first ever rated XL level, made in early 1.7 and being 2:20min long, as the level continues for 45 seconds after the song ends. Despite its length gd shows it as "long", due to XL length not existing back then.
The userid 1 is most likely "Robert", uploader of Ultiate Destruction with an id of 3, the uploader of that level could really be any user from 1 to 3, but its unlikely that rob changed userids after uploading 1 or 2 levels
For a few minutes in 1.5, demons refused to exist.
This is possibly due to an error where the check if a level has been marked as Demon or not wasn't working as intended (Leading to funny screenshots like these).
