Big fan of GTA V. Cinemaphile. War crimes are bad. Unaffiliated. He/him. Recently adopted one period after sentences and I love animals (more than people).
Eleven years ago, I witness the harassment, threatening, and murder of innocent Afghan locals by my former platoon leader. Now, he's applying for the state bar in Oklahoma to attempt to practice law. I'm going to object on moral fitness and character. This is a thread.
Lastly, I do this because Haji Mohammed Aslam and Ghamai Abdul Haq were murdered in cold blood. Their families aren't her to advocate for them. It would be morally unjust to live my life and not speak up while their murderer walks free with no accountability. If not me, who else?
I understand that Clint was pardoned by TFG, but his pardon was only achieved after years of pushing blatant disinformation and attacking those of us who spoke out against the criminal acts that we witnessed. We were threatened by his supporters and attacked by him personally.
Not only do I object on the grounds that Clint murdered innocent people, but he has NEVER taken any accountability for his own actions. He has continually pushed a false narrative that it was a split-second battlefield decision (it was not) and along with his defense, insists
"Shut the fuck up or I'll kill you too". That has stuck with me because he KNEW he killed innocent people. He TOLD us to "forget" we saw their identification. He tried to cover it up and obstruct justice. We deserve better people representing us. That's why I'm objecting.
that the men he murdered were enemies and bombmakers (they were neither). Both him and his lawyers were thoroughly dishonest from the start to this very day. I object to his moral fitness because he has no moral fiber. None. We deserve better.

Apologies for the few typos I have made. My hands are shaking from a slight tremor. My heart still aches to this day and I struggle with feelings of anguish and failure for not doing more sooner.
One thing that stands out to me, that I will mention to the bar, is that once we pushed past the dead bodies and I to the village, a crowd of crying women and children had gathered and were demanding answers. I remember clearly Clint Lorance pointed his rifle at them and saying,
You can write here if you would like to object. I will ask that everyone be professional and appropriate. Please consult an actual lawyer if you're unsure what/how to write. I'm doing my part.
@Noraistired
Thank you and every other person who supported us for doing the right thing. I never would have had the courage to tell my story if I didn't have mountains of support from so many people that I can't even begin to name. From the bottom of my heart.
@IGWEPIKOLO
Clint Lorance was my platoon leader. He murdered two people and we turned him in and he went to prison. He was pardoned by the last president and now he wants to be a lawyer.
@TaskandPurpose
I used to drop trou to my ankles and stare the UA coordinator in the eye when I had to do mine. Would ask him if he'd ever seen a sad giraffe before. Great times. Really miss some of my service.
@RichardNoogin
It wasn't war or battle when he threatened to murder a child and his father. Or when he ordered illegal harassing fire into a village. Or when the villagers complained and he murdered them. And it wasn't war or battle when he tried to cover it up. Maybe stick to Sesame Street.
Hey, while y'all are checking out my page because my thread, I just want to point out that Adam Kinzinger also lobbied for and celebrated the release of convicted murderer Clint Lorance. He owes us an apology. Here's his picture.
Tonight has been my busiest night on this site. I just walked away so I could play chess with my youngest. Tomorrow I will try to read all of the wonderful comments. Thank you all for the support, it means more than I could ever put into words and I've been moved to tears.
@RichardNoogin
Lol, some keyboard warrior telling me about war? That's almost charming, if you weren't so stupid. Neither you nor Clint ever saw a lick of war. Go outside, touch grass.
Since this clown is running around lying again, I just want to reiterate that he went to prison for harassing, threatening, and murdering innocent people and trying to cover it up. He's a coward and will never own up to his actions so I'm here to advocate for Haji Mohammed Aslam
@LethalityJane
He also threatened civilians, including children, multiple times, ordered fire into an occupied village AT civilians to scare them, lied about us searching the men he murdered, told us to forget they had IDs, I could go on but you get it
@BubblesToBurst
He was turned in immediately after the murders occurred. He was prosecuted, convicted, and imprisoned. He did appeal unsuccessfully. He's only free today because of the presidential pardon from a shameful and shameless former leader.
Thank you to Mr. Popalzai for covering this and sharing my letter. It's been a journey, but I'm eternally grateful for all of the support I have garnered over the years. Wouldn't have been able to keep it up without all of y'all.
*UPDATE*
Previously, I brought you the story of Clint Lorance—the convicted war criminal (pardoned by Trump) who ordered his platoon to kill Afghan civilians— and how he is trying to become a lawyer in Oklahoma.
I've obtained a copy of the letter sent by Todd Fitzgerald to the
@TaskandPurpose
Hey Marty, I witnessed some of the war crimes that were defended by the same org you just ran. This isn't a surprise or news that you would fail to get "factually accurate information" from people that have long been known to straight up lie. It's really well known, if you asked.
@TaskandPurpose
I have an idea for you guys, maybe next you could do an article about how you did a 180 from not liking war crimes to thinking they're actually okay and we should support them
(UAP also represented this guy)
@chadloder
I couldn't watch the insanity so I skipped through but at one point he said "we don't wanna hurt nobody, we're not like the democrats" which is outright bananas considering the circumstances
@billfitzwrites
@Noraistired
Yeah, several have spoken out. There were four other platoon members on the docu-series besides me, another one spoke out on reddit, several on Facebook. They've been extremely supportive and I'm grateful to have been surrounded by good people who knew wrong when they saw it.
@William__Cabot
@saletan
That's not true either, they had stopped and dismounted their bike before they were murdered. And I know because I was there. Their names were Haji Mohammed Aslam and Ghamai Abdul Haq. We saw their bodies and their ID cards and everything. Clint told us to "forget" we saw them.
Last fall, Trump pardoned Army Lt. Clint Lorance, who was serving a 20-year sentence for ordering the murder of two Afghan civilians. To Lorance’s defenders, the act was long overdue. To the men who served under him, it was a gross miscarriage of justice.

@slasherbaddies
The real beauty behind the particular scene is that the entire movie is filled with small background details that are meant to infer the time of year or the year (or decade) itself but they are all so contradictory that we might not even ask ourselves when it takes place if we
@chadloder
You're not *just* reporting. You're making a difference. You're changing the world in a positive way and every obstacle that you have faced, and overcome, is a sign of your successes.
@LtCatra
One day many years ago, Specialist Fitz was waiting in line at the px when I happened to look over and see "Stephen" from my trivia team on the wall right under "Garrison CSM". I dropped my shit in surprise because trivia was my off-post guilty pleasure and the only time I drank.
@spiritnght2
I had a friend call me after years of no contact to tell me how I had hurt her feelings and made her feel and it was definitely her therapist's suggestion and it a million times better than whatever this is cause she was right and I listened to her and validated what she shared
@William__Cabot
@saletan
They weren't riding towards us either, they had actually just left from our base before they were murdered after complaining about their village being fired into the day prior. They had been threatened before they left, then they were subsequently murdered on their way back home.
@William__Cabot
@saletan
They weren't combatants, they were just farmers. And it's okay if you don't know what you're talking about, it's not like you were there or had anything to do with it. In fact, I bet you've never even served. Everyone who was there disagrees with your take, by the way.
@letsgotothemaul
@slasherbaddies
hadn't seen this cute little thing up close. But if you rewatch and pay attention to the cars, phones, various pieces of technology, it doesn't add up. It's never the same. It's meant to be subconsciously unsettling, I think. Same with the weather.
@GlennC1
@MeAndMyFerrets
No, I never considered it. It would violate my principles.

Before the Starz docuseries and WaPo coverage this had been my experience with hundreds, if not thousands of conservatives and Fox viewers. The exceptions were probably close to hitting double digits, but not much more. We appreciate miltwitter's support and decency very much.

@GregAbbott_TX
Native Texan, of course it's taught in schools here, it's celebrated. That one is on the Mexican Army for sleeping when they should have been prepared. Also a veteran of war myself.
Hard to think about July 4th as a holiday. Ten years ago I was in Afghanistan. We watched ID4, pretended like it was all okay. But we had just turned in our lieutenant for murdering two men. None of it was okay. They just wanted to live. Everyone deserves that. Not all get it.
@BeckiMurphyJD
His name is on the list for July applicants on the OK State Bar's website, other than that I'm not intimately familiar with the process.
@LethalityJane
When I was putting in for terminal leave, they kicked back my initial packet for not having a route map. I was only driving home (in Clarksville).
@JayBirdOne
@LethalityJane
He wasn't, he was the one who gave the orders hence why he was imprisoned for it. It wasn't political, we (the soldiers who were there) turned him in. Thanks for playing.
So tomorrow will be one week since I called my local
@DeptVetAffairs
clinic about a broken bone and I haven't heard back. Guess I'll file a complaint, but they never followed up on my last one so I don't have much faith. I'm taking names this time though.
Important to note that the NRA has just over 4 million members. Not only are these people terminally stupid, but they're just so full of shit they can't even tell what's true or not. Dangerous, sure, but dumb as a rock.
“If you want to get to President Trump, you're going to have to go through me and 75 million Americans just like me. And most of us are card-carrying members of the NRA. That's not a threat, that's a public service announcement,” Kari Lake
@EODHappyCaptain
Never gonna patronize the VFW again since one of their posts decided to throw a welcome home party for the war criminal I testified against.
@gayblackvet
I witnessed war crimes. The murders of innocent people. I don't think I'll ever get over it. Even though we reported them and got the lt put away for what he did, I still feel like I failed those people. Can't tell you how many times I've wondered what we could've done different.
@HopeSeck
You should be fired, honestly. Some voices shouldn't deserve to be heard, especially when their objective is to raise money for themselves while attempting to absolve war criminals using lies, slander, and harassment via social media through their supportive cronies.
@washingtonpost
Since it's being boosted now, this story was published eight years to the day after the murders. And while I appreciate it finally coming to light, maybe if somebody had been paying attention for the almost seven years I was telling everyone who would listen, this world would be

I saw Walker publicly speak back in 2014 and I remember wondering where his handler was after about 20 minutes cause he went way off-script and wasn't making any sense. I felt bad for him then and it's obvious he's being propped up for politics now but it's embarrassing, on God.
@realHeathSmith
Don't forget to fill out your TRIPs report so they know exactly what route you'll be taking when you drive off post never to return (that's what I had to do and I was only driving home that day)
@erika_ronin
He is really such a good dude, he currently has a GoFundMe for therapy cause he hasn't gotten any. I normally wouldn't plug these but we have a mutual friend and it's for real. Please consider helping.

I jumped on the bird app to speak out against my former platoon leader, Clint Lorance, who harassed, threatened, and murdered innocent people and then tried to cover it up. I chose to speak out because Fox falsely praised him as a "hero" and refused to talk to anyone involved.

They're lower and closer to the ground to begin with. Listen, the tall person's unspoken "will you pick that up?" is the short person's "will you reach that?" I'm 6'3", thank you for coming to my Todd talk.
@TX_Alerts
Only here cause y'all woke me up, nice to know we got an APB and two mandatory alerts pushed through millions of phones via text for a cop shooter, but where was this energy in Uvalde? I'll protect y'all like y'all protected them kids.
@liberalsteveros
@JonesHospodTX
Proof? He was convicted in a court of law. I witnessed the crimes for which he was convicted and testified to them. I am the proof.
