I miss mid-budget thrillers from the 90s. They weren’t looking to start a franchise or revive a well-known IP or any of that crap. They were just solid standalone movies, and they were awesome! I miss seeing stuff like this in theaters.

I liked it, and it made sense that it was him. His family approved it. I’m just happy we got yet another good Alien movie. Beyond that, I have real stuff to be angry about in my life and happening in the real world right now, I’m not going to be outraged about a movie.

Also, I’m pretty sure there would be fewer bombs if movies didn’t cost $200-$300 million dollars. Like, if your movie needs to make a billion dollars just to break even, that’s not a sustainable model, in my opinion. Also, I’m hungover. What the fuck do I know?

There’s this weird brush with the afterlife and supernatural in BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE that isn’t played as a joke, and while brief, I found it kind of emotional. I need to think about it more. There are glimpses of melancholy there, and I liked seeing that in a Bad Boys movie.
