Well a tamed down graduation care of Rona, but a celebration all the same. After 6 years finally received my Master of Science in Agriculture! 🍾
Thanks to UNE, to my family and friends and shoutout to
@CraigNewham
who got off the tractor to take this picture 😂💙
I love guiding/teaching the next generation of Ag superstars but today I got to start the greatest education of my life, introducing Cam Darby to crop checks, 13 days new and the beginning of a lifetime of adventures

Truly blessed! Thanks to Lake and Tulli for excepting me into the community! Thanks to the beautiful souls who nominated me (you know who you are xx). You are a product of you community, and I have a bloody great one!! ❤️
@summitagconsult
The house is a mess, which I feel like reflects life at the moment, I feel less then productive but I am grateful to have made it home in time for a sunset snap & beer to celebrate 2 years a farm owner that’s about as close to a pub debrief as I’m going to get 😭🤪🍻
@CraigNewham
Ever since I moved here I have been told that rain on the show weekend usually is a good omen for a reasonably good finish. No show with covid, but Hughey certainly delivered!
Morning spent moving sheep to higher ground after 46mm in a storm last night and 119mm for the year has meant part of our place in now underwater. What a start to the year! ⛈🐑🚤🥴
How times have changed! What a great way to start the winter cropping program! Tipped out 55mm for the last 3 days. Got to work out how to get lambs on a truck Monday but a good problem to have ⛈⛈
Aerial crop inspections are literally the best this going to get a good idea of what’s going on. From fert trials to canola variety changes, machine issues to crop consistency the air is the place to be. Lucky I have a neighbour with a pretty cool toy 🚁
Checking out water levels on the Lachlan. Can’t even get to the actual river as all the creeks are running full noise, this is Wallaroi creek between condo and Euabalong. A LOT of water still to come 😬
Another day, another row of cotton. Cool temps means these little fellas have worked hard to get up and feeling the cool! But gosh how glad I am to see you ❤️ 🌱
#cotton22
We’re away in the west! Y95 canola to try and make the most of an early break. Bit early but with some big programs pencilled in it’s now or never!

Sooo I did a thing 👇👇🫶🏼
Thanks
@Adama_AU
and the Chris Lehmann Trust for the award and
@cropconsultants
for the nomination. So proud to be part of the amazing cotton industry and can’t wait to celebrate at the conference in August 🍻

Awesome morning at Hillston yesterday looking at what is possible in the Goldilocks season with Dryland cotton, mungbeans and sorghum. Thanks

1 in 100 year season so won’t be trying anytime soon…or will I…
Love farm adventures! Best start since we bought the farm, everything looking peachy. Here hoping the rest of the season goes the same way 🤞🏻

Another week, same farm, another drift event…this crop is surrounded by the Dryland owned by the same farmer which hasn’t been sprayed…
How do we better talk about this as a community 🤷🏼♀️
@CottonAustralia
@SouthernValleys
@CottonInfoAust
Fun fact about cotton, when it flowers the flowers are white, when that flower is pollinated they turn pink (usually the next day) and by 3-4 days post flower the petals fall away to reveal the Boll where the lint and seed comes from.

A couple of mm of rain this morning and you can literally watch the lupins coming up in the front paddock. There is nothing better then being apart of growing something ♥️ keep the rain coming Hughey 🌧
I don’t know what I’m more excited about. Being at the

or the fact my name has “director” under it

thanks
@CottonResearch
. Australian Ag is so lucky to have so many amazing women in it and I feel so grateful to be seated among them
Nola is moving now. Time to spray, spread 🌧️ and then what ever will be will be. Cracking start in the west. Promise I’ll try and share the rain next round.
Covid means it’s been a long time between field days but it’s great to see
@IRECNSW
go ahead. Socially spread along the banks talking about rice, cotton, weeds and all things irrigation.
Annual header stint complete, featuring my favourite reruns “gosh this is good, why don’t I do thins more” “I hate trees, why won’t this auto steer bloody steer” “gosh sunsets are pretty from here” “ok I’m bored and tired, this is why I don’t do this”
2 days has filled my cup…
Every year someone tries to take a shortcut or save a buck…most years it bites them, this year is no different. Didn’t want to spend money on seed dressing, now spending money chasing aphids 🤦🏼♀️

Felt the pain today, hand picking 200m of cotton across 40 Trial plots. Great work by team
#summitagconsulting
, hopefully there is something significant to ease the hunch back pain I feel tonight! Nice weather though...
From glam and networking last night and back to fields of red and green today playing in trials with dirt under my nails. I have the best job in the world.

There is nothing more satisfying then canola that is table top at early bolt. A lot of things done right, can’t wait to see what it does for us!
@summitagconsult
@NuseedAustralia
Every day plants amaze me. Both wheat, down at the same time, different gene package. Wedgetail vs spitfire (just a couple runs to finish a paddock) sown March. Visual difference is unreal.

So many horror stories, kids being bullied, communities being destroyed & people taking their life. As if the stress of drought isn’t hard enough, now being bullied to the point of breaking. I don’t care what you opinion is, as long as it’s educated,👎🏼ABC
Today I got to judge my first ever crop comp! Pressure was real but some great crops around
@Cudjallagong
Lake. Thanks Helen
@CWFS_Condo
for helping me pick a winner in the rain! Well done all growers. Was a tough day to be a judge. Hopefully I’ll have some help form
@AjFadge
Pretty cool to be recognised as a finalist for the cotton young achiever awards this year! Such an amazing industry to work in. Congrats to
@dalgliesh_angus
and
@jameskanaley
, can’t wait to celebrate in August 🍻 , congrats to all the other finalists.
A tough day yesterday doing hail assessments from last weeks storms. Some absolutely cracking crops reduced to nothing. So heartbreaking for these guys
Today is for the home farm checks. First year sowing our whole show on our own. Nearly half way through and early crops are looking the goods 👌🏼
@CraigNewham
Quite possibly one of the best albus lupin crops i have seen one of my clients grow, holding up to the 4th set of flowers through to pods. Getting a bit heavy and wanting to lodge. Can’t wait to see a header in here 😍
