Powerful, confident men don't need to be the center of attention at all times.
I don't understand why anyone obsesses with meaningless labels like "alpha" and "beta" when adjectives like decency and respect are far more relevant.

No, conservative news sources talked up Twitter and their listeners and viewers joined. I don't know why you'd try to find a technical configuration cause when the human behavior cause is plain.
It's almost as if you'd like to claim you're the victim of something.
@derrickvanorden
Whistle blower protections exist exactly so that corrupt dealings like Trump's can come to light. I understand you'd like to punish people who interfere with that.
@JusticeDanKelly
Cool, tell us about some of the cases you have presided over. Something not from SCOWI.
As a non-politician some of your ties to the Republican Party are confusing. For example, why was your previous campaign located in GOP offices? That connection seems like a politician.
@AmiriKing
He killed a man. Based on descriptions it does not sound like he was justified to grab Neely, much less kill him.
It's not OK to kill starving people. And it's terrifying that so many people think it is.
@JohnLeFevre

It's funny juxtaposition to claim to be focused on the pragmatic approach for the typical guy but then to also say to get jeans tailored.
Saying to think twice before wearing ripped jeans is fine. But pretending this advice is targeted to the everyman is laughable.
@DaveWeil
@HootPhD
I disagree. It's not necessary, but as long as it's not a rude reason providing it isn't combative.
"Bible studies are dumb" would be rude. But a respectful "I'm not part of the religion that'd be interested in your Bible study" or its equivalent is not combative at all.
@real_defender
@SpeakerJohnson
Even Fox is no longer saying they had explosives in the car. It's an example of Twitter being a good place to get a little info (there was an explosion) but then being a terrible place for all the speculation that runs rampant.
@LPNH
No, Turner's statement meant that we should provide for it with taxes. The people producing the insulin (and other medicines) would not be compelled to do that or be uncompensated for it.
Government collecting taxes to provide services is morally distinguishable from slavery.
@WesleyHuntTX
What party did the voters on the Colorado lawsuit belong to? Most were Republicans and not one was a Democrat.
I understand it's convenient to lie about things like that.
@TrueGemHunter
Stocks have ups and downs. So does crypto.
The difference is stocks represent a stake in something that has actual value while crypto is, as far as I can tell, purely speculative.
If you believe crypto adds real value to the world, great. If not, it's worse than tulips.

You can, but less. Because vaccinated people catch it at a lower rate and remain sick for a shorter time.
The risk is still high enough that wearing masks in indoor public spaces is the right thing to do for now. But vaccination reduces your likelihood of being a vector.
@john_e_bones
@Txp_RBI_Xctuxl
Why do you think renters have a stake in not keeping the neighborhood nice?
I understand the argument that they're more able to go elsewhere so they are less tethered to the neighborhood. But you went much further.

Not dragging down Rapunzel, but Belle is doing serious reading despite the distractions.

Not quite. Florida created a broad law that bans discussion of sexual orientation (which will include mention of the existence of gay people, including kids with two moms) or gender identity for K-3. They claimed that was anti-grooming.
That's who made that connection. Florida.

I'm pretty sure he spent money making voting more accessible. My understanding is, at least in Wisconsin, he provided grants to all communities that applied.
It's good when it's easier for people to vote.

There are literally millions of Black women he isn't nominating. He's not picking solely based on those criteria. Of the hundreds of qualified people, he is narrowing his list this way.
Statements like this undermine your credibility if you later claim she's unqualified.

Oh, you must not have heard! There's a deadly and disabling pandemic going around. Masks can reduce your odds of catching or spreading it. They can also reduce your initial viral load.
I'm kinda surprised you hadn't heard in the last few years about that. Never too late, though!
@ianmSC
@ScholerinED
No, studies demonstrate mask usage does reduce transmission. Having it in a place where there can be decent adherence is important for studies to catch the signal.

When churches protect these predators they deserve harsher penalties because they (the predators) exploit their position in an organization that represents morality.
So true they shouldn't be on equal footing. A church should be less financially insulated than a business.

@Txp_RBI_Xctuxl
The only times a homeowner actually benefits from high home value is when they're getting a loan (refinance or home equity) or when they're selling.
The homeowner otherwise is paying more property taxes for nothing. That happens every year.
@Travis_4_Trump
She said the diary is real. That is not the same as authenticating all the events in there happened. And it's especially not saying the more salacious events added to it were true.
Here you go, though, "distorting [her] stream-of-consciousness thoughts" like she said pains her.

@RyanMarino
No, giving an unambiguous example doesn't preclude having an opinion on the rest. I'm sorry basic inference is a struggle for you.

If he subsequently acted on that revelation I'd completely agree. It's laudable to adjust your position on the basis of new evidence or arguments you hadn't considered.
Has Peterson done that?
@Zach_the_ripper

Pool has spent a considerable number of posts saying that this is what you get when you have "gr--mer" events. Setting aside that they didn't, that's justifying the violence.
it seems that around 10pm Club Q posted they were having an all ages drag show the next day
About 2 hours later the shooter came in.
People keep calling for woodchippers and this is what happens
@ask_aubry
Also for taking vacation photos where they're in frame.
If I wanted pictures of picturesque places without me or loved ones in them I'd buy one. Professional photographs of those places are better than the ones I'll take.
@goddeketal
If the masks are restrictive enough to meaningfully affect oxygen then they obviously will impede viruses.
To be clear, they don't actually do that first thing and they absolutely do the second one.
@courtneyh2727
Yes. Slipping medicine to people with their consent is wrong.
That said, I'm not sure if I'm in the group you're asking. I am in favor of people having the choice of whether to remain pregnant but I'm not advocating that people get abortions.
@JesseKellyDC
No, there isn't widespread election fraud. If you want to make this claim, provide evidence. It's well-documented who voted and how many votes came through.
If there's election fraud, prosecute it. Constant evidence-free accusations undermine democracy.
@MattWalshBlog
It's still frequently the lead story. It still shows up on the national news media front pages (although not the top story any longer).
So no, what you claim didn't actually happen. I'd appreciate if you'd stop making political hay by deceiving about my state.
@mail_american
The burden of proof is such that people are found Not Guilty, not Innocent. So institutions that wish to use a looser burden of proof aren't even in conflict with the jury's decision by acting accordingly.
That's why civil suits (e.g. Simpson) proceed after Not Guilty verdicts.
@benshapiro
1.) Empathy
2.) Roe isn't the only precedent or the strongest precedent that people care about. If Roe can be overturned, why not Obergefell?
@BrandonStraka
You're allowed to question but you're not allowed to make false statements. It's not that ambiguous of a distinction.

I mean, yes, it gives warm fuzzies. And it makes it more likely the higher value will stick when you sell. But the incentives aren't as clean as you imply.
@JesseKellyDC
Yes, because asymptomatic people and especially presymptomatic people can spread it to others.
Responsible people care whether they're spreading a dangerous disease to other people.
@VivekGRamaswamy
The most obsessed people I see over "gender ideology" are conservatives.
But kids aren't afraid of trans or gay people for the same reason desegregated schools reduced fear of Black people. Meeting people helps end prejudice. Even if some try to gin up fear for political reasons
@aliciaandrz
It's so weird to me when people get offended by this.
1.) Yes, women are people.
2.) Even if you exclude trans men, there are way too many people who aren't yet women (usually requires "adult") who get pregnant to sweep under the figurative rug.
@TimRunsHisMouth
Either he's not aware of memes (probably for the best - he has far more important things to deal with) or he's able to roll with the punches to avoid engaging with someone trying to make a Santa spectacle a confrontation.
I'm fine with either possibility.
@brixwe
Jones wasn't fined for misinformation. So...okay?
He was found liable and sued for defamation. Which is not the same thing.
Also, the vaccines did drastically cut transmission of the variants that were around at the time. And significantly cut it even for Delta.
@StopThatWasDumb
@ScottSeiss
There are two ideas from the older generation.
The first is that real estate is a great investment because values go up (relative to inflation).
The second is that people should be able to get them at a young age because they did.
Those ideas are incompatible.
@Leftylockdowns1
Those aren't inconsistent with each other.
Driving safely (including wearing a seatbelt) is important to prevent accidents. Reckless drivers pose a risk to safe and reckless drivers.
@NewsBecker
That's because Abrams did concede. She identified reasons she doesn't think the election rules were as they should be but didn't attempt to overturn the election that happened under those rules.
@Theresa_Chapple
My employer measured things and found that WFH during the worst parts of the pandemic led to higher productivity. This makes sense with my behavior because I put in many more hours than I could have WFW and wanted to make sure they couldn't use that as an excuse to end it.
@MattWalshBlog
I think you're confused. We're not changing our perception of biological reality. We're realizing that some other things aren't as tightly coupled with it than was previously thought.
Also, it's not threats or screaming that are the reason we listen. They told their experiences.
@sdfifty2
@sleepysquid46
@Esqueer_
You seemed to argue it's appropriate for churches to be insulated from the acute financial consequences of being a place for predators to operate but also appropriate for adult only queer spaces to be unable to be insulated from the costs of rare but intense property damage.
@Cernovich
Bail is bad. It is holding people who aren't convicted for ransom. Those who are dangerous should be held regardless of their ability to raise money. Those who aren't (and aren't flight risks) shouldn't be jailed until conviction.
To do otherwise is to punish for being accused.
@StephenM
Whether you agree with the application here, this is sidestepping Constitutional protections as currently interpreted by SCOTUS. If states can do a backdoor ban on this, why not other things, like gun ownership or certain religious practices?
This is terrible precedent.
@Reader10100
@Komaniecki_R
It's closer to continuing to refer to a neighbor's house by the one neighbor's name after they move out.
Companies aren't people. Calling them by a name they don't now advocate is not the same as doing the same action with people.

My favorite version of this that I have seen goes like:
1.) Order fish fry kid's meal for kid
2.) Order entrees for all adults
3.) Will not eat kid's meal
4.) Put some of fish fry on Oma's plate (name for the kid's grandmother) next to her food
5.) Mmm, Oma's fish is yummy!
@MattWalshBlog
@AOC
The problem isn't that his bail was too low. It was that he was allowed out. If his bail had been 10k or 100k he'd have done the same thing.
If someone is a public safety risk, bail is not the way to prevent that danger.
@Juice01Jungle
@Sheep_in_fog
This sign is making people feel bad for wearing a mask. People who wear a mask weigh the risks of the pandemic and costs of wearing masks differently than you do. They may also be managing risks you don't know.
Your last question makes me wonder - who is making whom feel bad?
@Fizzyfroglover
Lila is why I thought they were going to move back when it was confirmed they were moving. Can't graduate together in different cities, right?
I love all the payoff they had here. It was very sweet.
@EricMMatheny
If anyone enters a Justice's home, sure. Or enters a secured area and jeopardizes the ability of professionals to secure those areas.
If they're in public spaces then people are free to impose social penalties (like on anyone participating in a protest) but that's the extent.
@JenRuthGreen
That notion of CRT is, as far as I can tell, a straw man. Not everything is inherently racist. But there are some laws and programs that have racist underpinnings. There are well-documented historical examples, like red-lining.
@the1jcb
The context here is someone saying that since they're a cashier they don't have knowledge like needle policy. So your observation that they operate the register isn't relevant to that.

Why would I care about them parking on their grass? It's less inconvenient to me than them parking on the street.
I guess if it churns up the grass too much or blocks it from getting sun to the point it dies that could lead to erosion. That's the only meaningful downside I see.
@ByronYork
@mirandadevine
Not quite what you said. There were emails on a laptop. Some of those emails have been authenticated.
That doesn't show the laptop was his. It doesn't show the other emails are real.
It may sound far-fetched, but a skilled fabrication would likely include some real documents.
@johnstruthers
@bebe1969
At a rummage sale I'd agree with this. Goodwill did not lose that $500 dollars, the person who donated to Goodwill did. There's no way they'll find that person. This is not that far off of finding something underpriced there.
It would be cool of him to give some to charity.
@Knock_it0ff

"Women" doesn't accurately capture the demographics of people who could use tampons. There are many women who don't menstruate, for example.
I suspect you're only referring to the people who aren't women but do menstruate. But it goes both ways. This is more precise.
@Eve6
This would be kinda funny if people weren't using the same argument to claim Covid doesn't kill people because the people it killed are largely old or sick.

I understand if Black people aren't super excited about a song containing the lyrics, "No refuge could save the hireling and slave from the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave." It's not awesome even as a white guy.
We have multiple patriotic songs. That's not a problem.

Oh, I didn't realize people in Eastern countries hadn't heard of those concepts until they made contact with Christians.
No, you just assume that anything mentioned or vaguely in the Bible doesn't exist elsewhere.

Freedom of speech means not being prosecuted for your speech. Will they prosecute blasphemy in Afghanistan? I suspect so.
Freedom of speech does not guarantee a platform. Legally or figuratively. I'll gladly take removal of bullhorns for misinformation over death for blasphemy.

Crickets from the media? Here's an article from CNN about it.
It was prominently on their website yesterday, although now it's only on the front page instead of being on the top of the front page.

I agree. Although I don't understand why you linked to this video when denouncing inequality in America today.

@NateSilver538
You're getting lots of these, but two points.
1.) Remaining to be counted =/= remaining to be received =/= remaining to be cast
2.) Some states allow votes in transit for a week after election day
If a vote was legally cast, it should be counted. That's not done yet.

There were 36 unprovoked shark fatalities in the US between 1958 and 2018. There were 28 students killed in school shootings in 2018. So your statistics are way off. The number of kids present (i.e. "involved") for school shootings is much higher still.
@ProfMJCleveland
"You know, I mean, I’m notifying you that you’re letting it happen. So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state."
That clearly reads as an instruction to find those votes. Especially given who looks

Cool, cool. Arguing that "sacred" implies belief in a higher power. And that people who don't believe in a higher power are less than those who do.
If you don't agree with the First Amendment and our related prohibitions of religious tests just say so.

@_celia_bedelia_
Yes, they do. And it's gross. Unless you're saying that people who do that should not be treated as men. Jerry Seinfeld dated a high school girl in his late 30s.
Late-30s dating a 25 year old is probably OK, but possibly creepy if it's a pattern.

For SCOTUS? I don't think so.
If you're going to be mad about people not knowing the Constitution in quiz form, that was a quickly confirmed Justice from 2020 who wasn't able to supply what is guaranteed by the First Amendment.
@MarxMidwest
Except there's no subsidies that only go to junk food and his point wasn't that they're too small. And the lyric emphasizes the person doing it by giving their dimensions, not the government actions around it.
So it's a good attempt at rationalization but doesn't quite fit.
