@luvsdates
thank u for this thread bc sometimes i feel like i’m literally insane and completely alone in having periods where i feel like a bottomless pit and i just need more and more nutrients 😖
people will starve themselves for 3 months and binge once and then 15 year olds on edtwt will be like “why are you pretending to have an eating disorder”
@herbabyz
apparently eating disorders are this totally controllable thing that we definitely totally have control over and we are purposefully driving everyone in our lives away from us because of it On Purpose
@a_silly_toad
@t4twerew0lf
i watched a docu on a weight loss ward in the UK and one of the stories covered a woman who underwent weight loss surgery to stop her emotional eating that made her severely obese but she ended up turning to substance abuse afterwards, then got clean and gained the weight back
@luhllana
imo its not because of the influencers because the majority of people have no idea who those people are, it’s because so many people are bigger than ever in almost every place in the world
life pro tip: if the nutrition label says "phenylketonurics: contains phenylalanine," it will decrease your appetite
it's one of the amino acids in aspartame
that's why certain sugar free gums decrease appetite while others make you feel hungry
they’re not “lying” to you it’s because there’s no regulations on serving sizes in the US because the FDA doesn’t give a shit and it’s our responsibility (unfortunately) to research what we put into our mouths

@tiny0w0
i think these meds help people slowly rebuild a better relationship with food especially if they have problems with binge eating or overeating. if it helps improve their quality of life and their health then i see it as a net good
@dumbassana99
videos like this make it 1000x harder for overweight people to be diagnosed with any ED, including BED. like we should stop confusing certain disorders for others and stop treating restriction like it’s the only disordered behavior and accept that some of us binge eat
@skxnnycafe
semaglutide is explicitly helpful for binge eating but you have to be actively working on it with a doctor too
source: i work in a pharmacy and see the diagnoses on prescriptions, i've watched ppl with BED lose a lot of weight on it
getting ready to step on the scale and peeing, taking all my clothes off, taking my watch off, taking my earrings off, taking my hair tie off, taking my skin off, taking my eyeballs out,

@tiny0w0
ozempic isnt on back order anymore so it’s not as hectic as it once was trying to get the medication to everyone. tbh a lot more people just have prescriptions for wegovy (the weight loss indicated version of the same drug) or mounjaro/zepbound now if they’re taking 4 weight loss
@sana0cals
@dollierolls
been there before and i agree lol, they look much better than they taste. idk if it’s the texture of because of how much sugar is in it but it’s not good
damn they used to really have us breaking a sweat in PE class only to be forced to go to algebra 5 minutes later smelling like a marathon and 10 sprays of perfume
sometimes when i start to feel guilty about doing high intake i remind myself that i am a grown adult with a physically and mentally demanding job and also a full time student trying to get a professional doctoral degree
i feel like gaining a lil weight in a relationship is normal but people saying they gained 50+ lbs in a relationship is scary bc that’s a worryingly large jump in weight
you don't have to fast, you don't have to eat low carb, you don't have to have an extremely low intake, hell you don't even have to exercise, you just need to be in a calorie deficit
@MyfriendAna_0
@shutupandstarv
the only thing that changes is their lifestyle habits, like yeah once you stop walking around a college campus every day and you work a desk job all day then eat fast food for lunch/dinner you’re obviously going to gain weight
i’ve been having crazy binge urges lately, it’s literally all i think about from sun up to sun down 😭 food has been occupying my entire mind and it’s just like YOU SHOULD EAT AN ENTIRE CAKE!! YOU SHOULD EAT EVERYTHING!!!! LIKE NO WHY TF WOULD I DO THATTT???
@retrotiaz
she’s going to be devastated on the day she turns 18 when she looks around and realizes every single one of her problems didn’t magically vanish
i am not ready for school to start back up because i have the most credit-heavy and STEM-heavy schedule of my entire college career and i am just not there mentally
bullying people for being obese especially when most obese people get there by struggling with BINGE EATING DISORDER is incredibly ironic when we also have eating disorders that make us look horrifically different from and more unhealthy than people at a healthy weight 😒
