251 checked-out library books, countless of articles, 284 PDF files, two archives visits, 80500 words, 3.5 years... my PhD thesis "The Supernatural in Sylvia Plath’s Poetry: From Salem to Ariel" is submitted.🥳😍
Since I stopped going to conferences without an online option, I have been almost excluded from academic life
This is the experience of our many colleagues for reasons of disability, economics and location.
It isn't acceptable.
What are you going to do about it?
I never thought this would happen to me but I got a part-time fixed-term Lecturer job role at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.❤️🇳🇱 Guess who is leaving England for 6 months 😭
My article, "Sylvia Plath’s reimagination of the Grimms’ fairy tales in postwar American culture" has been published in Feminist Modernist Studies, by Taylor & Francis. And the best part: it is open access!
I can't believe it but after like the 8th attempt, I passed my driving test😭A 7am test on a Saturday, a helpful great examiner, and anxiety medication do wonders!!!
So happy that my paper "Sea-fathers: A Comparative Reading of Prospero from The Tempest in Sylvia Plath and Margaret Atwood’s writings" has been accepted for the Shakespeare and the Sea Conference in Sept. 2023! 🌊👨🪄
Me in 2017: cries when gets accepted to the Belfast Plath conference but feels very much of an outsider there

I am pleased to announce that I am one step closer to my PhD(despite having tons of writing to do); I am now confident of the overarching narrative and came up with this title: From Salem until Ariel: Powers of the Supernatural in Sylvia Plath’s Poetry🤘🧙♀️🪄🧟♂️🧛♂️✨
I'm so fed up of my name not being written correctly. My PhD graduation certificate says "Tamßs" not "Tamás". German ß has nothing to do with á (which is a long a).
@UniofExeter
, don't butcher foreign students' names.
I am so happy that I got a preliminarily acceptance for "The ‘Edge’ of Sylvia Plath Critical History: A Reappraisal of Plath’s Work 60 years after”😍 My essay, "Sylvia Plath behind the Iron Curtain" will explore Plath's relationship to Hungary as part of the Eastern Bloc

(for the last time): Sylvia Plath wasn't a witch nor a hag,🧙♀️🧹 / but her poems are somewhat spells.🪄 / They are products of a culture: witch-hunts, fairy tales, and more🧚♂️🔮✡️✨ / transforming American and personal history into folklore.📑📖

I'm thrilled that my case study "Using Google Maps to Track Sylvia Plath’s Poetic Landscape in England" will appear in the Handbook of Critical Digital Humanities, due to be published in 2025.

Same happened to me. No information on having to self-isolate after f2f teaching 2 students tested positive. I only got to know this yesterday that students have COVID.
From the Guardian article: “Every single student hall at Bournemouth has cases, from a single isolation, to a whole corridor. There are more than 100 cases but the management thinks this should be kept confidential.”
I’m on my way to do my first ever archival work on the archives the BBC has on Plath’s radio readings.
Hoping this will contribute to my last chapter on Magic and/as Poetic Inspiration and the connections between the supernatural, orality, poetic inspiration, and performativity.
My family and their friends made 200 sandwiches and now my dad is bringing them (along with baby food and water) to a village near the Ukrainian border, where some of our relatives live, to the people there.
That very satisfying feeling that I will finish my PhD with the chapter on the bee poems and it gives my research a nice closer and honours Plath’s wish.
Happy to announce that I'm going to present the topic, "A Walk in the Cottagecore: Sylvia Plath’s Green Aesthetics of the Pandemic" in the "New Poetics of Space: Literary Walks in times of Pandemics and Climate Change" conference 🥳😍🌿🍀🍃

Thank you to
@PopcultureUne
for accepting my chapter on "Barbie’s Domesticity: From the Kitchen Debate to Toy Air Fryers" in the upcoming publication on Barbie in Popular Culture (2024) published by Routledge.
Going to North Tawton on Sunday to do some Plathing. 😍So excited, I have been living in Devon for 2.5 years and still haven’t visited it, this is a must now.
So excited about our panel next week! I'm going to present next to Julie and Kitty (chaired by Olivia) about Plath's relations and engagement with Hungary and Eastern Europe
Celebrating that I finished writing my chapter "Barbie’s Domesticity: The Barbie Dream House from Kitchen Debate to Barbie (2023)", I suffered through the last 4 hours to write the last sentence.
My parents are now able to visit me and I have already planned a 3-course dinner despite that they will only come in 4 weeks time. I'm so excited, I never been their host, can't wait to show off all my cooking and baking skills.

Hello Stephanie, I'm interested in any remote opportunities. I am actually doing a Taylor Swift-Sylvia Plath seminar series in January and February. Perhaps you can recommend it to some students?

I gained quite a lot of new followers since my book announcement, so hi all👋 I post mainly about academia, Sylvia Plath, Taylor Swift, and social issues, and you can sometimes witness cooking/food/life/travel/selfie posts
