I made an interactive infinite bossa nova tune😋it can write bars to smoothly modulate from any key to any key you ask it to!
also featuring automatic voice leading for 3x satisfaction every chord change.. all rules & heuristics & my own style, no ML needed ;]
currently obsessed with this little sequence from the theme tune of ザ・ベストテン ("The Best Ten", 80s Japanese TV show) so I did a quick transcription & analysis video!
it's pure bliss every time.. the blackadder, the power of the C/D chord, the lush strings... ahhh!
Heinz Kiessling-esque orchestral lightmusic to break in the new musescore 4 Muse Sounds 🍫 i will be making much use of this in future musicking... the playback is sooo good
excerpt from my new piece "fifteen frolicsome figures" written for the infloresce charity stream, part of the STAFFcirc showcase segment!!
it is 15edo jazz.. featuring a custom Tonnetz midi visualizer I made just for the occasion (to be released later!!)
@JPRidgeway
many good ones in Vietnamese...
困難 khốn nạn - a vulgar interjection (đồ khốn nạn "you POS!"), rarely "difficulty"
說明 thuyết minh - "dub, narration, voiceover for TV show", rarely "explain"
自己 tự kỷ - "autistic", not "self"
場 trường - "school", rarely "place/area"
hi everyone, my soundcloud was looking a bit outdated so I have posted there, in a big playlist, some of my fav pieces previously only posted on twitter and elsewhere. it's a pretty good sampling of what I've been up to musically. pls enjoy!!
@surasshu
tysm slash 🥹 could never have done it without your (and all of maj7's) continued love and support of the "lightmusic classical jazz fusion" flavors of digifu...
@ravarcheon
LOL the two minute papers impression is amazing.. impeccable humor, delivery, and timing too; you've been on a roll with these, probably the most creative twist to the twitter DAWvideo formula i've seen... keep it up!!
@AHydra101
most of the sounds here are from the roland sound canvas plugin, but you can definitely do the same with instrument samples from e.g. SNES and N64 games, which are often themselves taken from classic midi modules!
@father_p_
@ZBWMusic
LOL uknow, I could have said the same for the other wonderful microtonal wielders in the digifu and chip sphere who got me into this in the first place... the pipeline will just keep going the further you look
@negativefnnancy
so if you gather 220 nancies with perfect tempo together to tap out 120bpm but with the ith Nancy 0.00227 seconds offset from the (i-1)th nancy then the collective nancies will have perfect pitch at A440
ok it is out now!!!
STAFFcirc vol. 7b - Luna Octava

@paperaviator
lovely writing!! it comes out so nicely indeed… I still can’t believe we have this level of quality for free, I’m so pumped to write more in musescore
@MatCamerer
heheh ty, it is pretty intentional I would say... I drew the rough shape first and then tweaked the notes into nice lines and cadences aiming to not ruin the outline too much; using the "hind legs" for that cadence turned out to work quite well I think😼

@kinggizzard
obligatorily I will shill the
@111ypad
STAFFCirc Terra & Luna Octava albums!! (featuring big names like Sevish and Stephen Weigel too) Some of the most accessible microtonal tunes around imo, w/ various styles and influences..
@Nifflas
here is another tool that is like the allthescales csv file but even more comprehensive (>2k scales); the page's html source actually contains the whole list, each scale encoded as a 12-bit integer for whether each 12tet degree is present or not
@MandraSigma
very much yes;; when I'm in a piano roll, lots of my comp choices roll out of visual cues, mouse muscle memory, & the "spatial density" of the score, but in a tracker, I'm forced to only use my aural vocab (because I can't sight-sing tracker note names) which is quite different
@LEDAfterBurners
ty! I guess I did both song reharms and composing w/ constraints; reharms got me into theory; writing with time/theme limits (1hour compos etc) was what most helped my DAWchops and style, tho citypop isn't my usual…just riffing on a few reference songs! (I can say more in dms!)
@oli_0331
ohh you can do a very similar diminutive derivation in Vietnamese with adjectives with stop finals.. except rather than an affix, there is a tone alternation, and the reduplicant's final is what gets nasalized; the triplication is also partially productive as an intensifier!
@_tenby_
@father_p_
if it helps, I did a piano transcription of the full kiryu version a few years ago, it should be fairly accurate I hope.. excited to hear what you're cooking
@simon_passmore
ah once you have the json code, copy it from that box, paste it into notepad (or similar) and save it as a text file (extension .json) and then drag that file into almamplayer!
@void_pebble
oh my gosh this is awesome!! thank you for doing this.. I did think of trying this but with the help of reading the queue of incoming bars; it still felt pretty hard for me but I think you could probably pull it off that way :]
@cejetvole
@TrillinDaGame
I'm not familiar with interfacing with MIDI in js, but I think it should be easy to make it work in the current code! (each note trigger scheduled comes with a time and duration) so I think I'll leave it to you to implement, let me know if you have any questions/updates !
