Perpignan SW France. Today Received 200 refugees including 100 children from Ukraine. They sent buses to collect them from Poland. The donations and hospitality has been amazing.
UK?
Having just watched BBC Question Time on catch up.
I draw two conclusions-
Paddy McGuinness and those like him should appear more often.
Victoria Derbyshire should replace Fiona Bruce.

@ITVDebate
I am in receipt of state pension and a private pension. I pay income tax. I would however be more than willing to pay more tax if it was going to help fix broken Britain. But not if the extra I would pay went to the shareholders of the privatised utility companies.

The U.K. voted that no third country should have access to Galileo.
The U.K. voted that no third country should be allowed to import shellfish into the EU.
In 2016 the U.K. voted to become a third country.
This is BREXIT.

leaving the D-Day remembrance early to do an interview with ITN to try and clear his name for being called a liar. When he is a liar.

Let us not forget that Rachel Johnson has said that when she went to Chequers during lockdown she saw no rules being broken. Rachel Johnson by being at Chequers broke the rules.
@toryboypierce
France has high speed rail covering the entire country.
France has a fully functioning health service with no waiting lists.
France has properly maintained roads.
Whereas in Brexshit Britain?
Suck it up Tory boy.
@LeeAndersonMP_
I must point out to you that St George was born in Turkey. His mother was from Palestine and his father was a Roman soldier. He never set foot in England. If he tried to do so today the Tory party would consider him an illegal immigrant and refuse him asylum.
@MikeRWrites
@CBeaune
The UK government and especially Johnson say what a UK anti EU and especially anti French audience wants to hear and brainwash others. My partner and friends in France are able to keep me informed of the truth and not the twisted lies I read in the British popular press.

Trump might well have jammed a chair behind the door but Nigel Farage I just read was now wanted for questioning in the US as there is an active investigation. Oh my cloudy horrible day just got brighter.
This is the worst interview
@RishiSunak
has given. Everyday he makes things worse for the Tory party.
Will he please put us all out of our misery and call a GE asap.
An outrageous attempt is now underway to keep a PM totally unfit in office
It’s bloody obvious he flouted & broke the rules imposed on the rest of us & the public knows it (just watch this)
By refusing to quit he is defying all precedent
@HardingMike
I commute from Nr Liverpool to SW France by car every six weeks. Each time I arrive there is always something new or an improvement. Each time I return to Blighty there is another pothole. France has moved on and as you say they pity us. How sad is that.
@YvonneBurdett3
Went to hospital yesterday. My consultant said don’t listen to Boris. This is not over. I might listen to him rather than
@BorisJohnson
@JaneRemain
I would like all those anti Starmers who claim there is no opposition tell me what the hell he is supposed to do. He rips Johnson apart week in week out at PMQs. Makes suggestions as to the right thing to do. If Johnson is in denial and ignores him what more can Starmer do?
@YvonneBurdett3
@tedandharry
I don’t think I have ever voted Labour but I might well do cos not voting Tory. Starmer should not go just yet but he needs a reshuffle. Yvette Cooper, Hiliary Benn, David Lammy on the front benches.
@campbellclaret
I do not think people don’t care. I think they are unaware. The right wing press are hardly going to print or expose these wring doings.
@i_iratus
Something the Tories never mention is since 2010 they closed 650 police stations and cut 23,500 police support staff. The former means officers have to travel further. The latter were there to release officers from admin so they can patrol the streets.

If a potential Labour MP comes canvassing at my door the first thing I will be asking is do you support rejoining the EU and getting FoM back for the younger generation.

Last week I returned from a six week trip to France and Spain.
Supermarkets and shops everyone wore a mask.
France restaurants and bars Pass Sanitaire/Covid passport required.
It is not rocket science.

As retired Police Officer I used Sec 5 PO Act 1986 many times. The officers on duty at the time and were present should have been aware that Goddard was causing you alarm and distress. He should have been warned that if he continued his behaviour he would be arrested. Then nicked

In March 2019 The Guardian reported that The Thorn in the Side Ltd, which Farage is the sole director, assets grew by £400,000 in the previous year. A jump from £157,000. Who gave him all that money?

As Simon Harris the new Taoiseach recently said - people used to leave Ireland looking for a better life now people go to Ireland for a better life.
@BBCPhilipSim
@NicolaSturgeon
The way the Scottish people is being treated by this government since the independence referendum is deplorable. Circumstances have changed and the people of Scotland should now be given another opportunity to decide their own destiny. And soon...
@benhabib6
I’ll bet you’re a white grey haired old man that wants to bring back the empire. The young generation want to be a part of the biggest and most successful trading bloc in the world where they can live work study with no borders. Think of them.
@LBC
@NickFerrariLBC
Is everyone missing the point? When Zahawi was interviewed by Kay Burley he denied having anything to do with Balshore. Now that clearly has been proved a lie.
@NicolaSturgeon
From someone south of the border - I do not want to see the break up of the union but I fully support the people of Scotland having a say on their destiny. It is them who should decide not MPs in Westminster.
Jan 2024: Boris Johnson, "A Trump presidency will be a good thing for America and the world"

Correct. Decision that the EU would not import shellfish from 3rd countries was made in 2010 and came law in 2011. Farage was the MEP minister for fisheries at the time. (don’t think he attended a meeting). But should have known. In 2016 the UK voted to become a 3rd country!

Inflation is only 4% in France because Macron acted quickly. Whereas in the UK Sunak only acted the day after the release of the Sue Gray report as a distraction.

Over the last few weeks I have listened to
@RhonddaBryant
. Never having been a Labour voter I am mighty impressed. Total respect. There is a huge amount of talent on the opposition benches.
@CDen128
I feel exactly the same. Before the referendum one of my concerns was that it would destroy the union which I was fiercely proud of. Now I wish Scotland the very best with their quest for independence. They do not deserve what is being thrust upon them.
@GregHands
Here we are Hands. The guardian reporting you were lining your mates pockets just as
@carolvorders
has tweeted. Now answer

questions so we can all know the truth.

Looking back in history and especially Germany in the 1930s exactly the same is happening here. The government control what we read and see on the news and ban any form of protest against them. I am seriously worried.
@MatthewdAncona
In an attempt to distract from the Cummings Affair lockdown rules are being relaxed early and were announced on Friday. As a result people are going to die. This prime minister is prepared to see people die rather than lose has adviser. Johnson is a monster.
@DanNeidle
Just remind me. When Zahawi was interviewed by Kay Burley did he say neither he nor his family benefited from Balshore. If so that was clearly a lie.
@BrexitAlliance
The U.K. is now a third country. Passports have to be inspected and stamped. The 90 days in 180 has taken effect. The U.K. imposed this on themselves by leaving the EU.

Tories closed 650 police stations many of them rural.
Tories cut 23,500 Police Support staff who freed up Officers to patrol the streets.
Tories have lied. The police were not crying wolf which Theresa May accused them of.

Andrew Pierce on GMB said it was probably a flippant remark. Well I do no find it amusing one bit and neither do I think will the families who lost loved ones.
@13sarahmurphy
1,000,000 people peacefully marched in London opposed to Brexit to no effect. I often wonder what would have happened if they had trashed London. Look what happened with the Poll Tax protests in March 1990. Thatcher soon did a U turn.
@carolecadwalla
On 13th March I began isolating. My thoughts were I want to stay alive so stuff the government. And I will continue to be very cautious of until I think it is safe. Johnson and co can not be trusted.
@mikegalsworthy
@michaelgove
In actual fact contrary to what Gove said it is the UK government that is not respecting international law who will no longer pay for healthcare when all those who have retired to the EU paid into the system all their lives with National Insurance.

I live in a seaside resort where in storms and heavy rain raw sewage is dumped in the sea. My MP voted for the practice to continue. The Tories are no longer the party for the seaside.

I have never voted Labour and a long time since I voted Tory. I will vote Labour with Starmer as leader and so will many people I know.

The Tories have been failing us for 14 years. Not one thing is better. Just the rich grit a whole lot richer and we got a whole lot poorer.
@johnredwood
Deadwood - if the fat blond liar hadn’t rushed through the “Get Brexit Done”, lied to the DUP about a border in the Irish Sea and negotiated properly then perhaps there could have been an amicable solution.
