A very sad day today. I had to take my Labrador Harry to the vets for his final journey. I came home without him. He has been my best mate for nearly 14 years. In great pain with arthritis, his legs would no longer work and very unhappy. I am heartbroken. 💔

I’m now an old English man. I proudly served my country. I love this country, but I am ashamed of what it has become. I was a Tory voter - but no more. Two months ago I was not going to vote, Labour & Tory’s do not deserve my vote. I will now vote Reform, England needs Reform

Remember them like yesterday. No civilian kit in the locker - packed away in the suitcase. Cardboard inserts in the folded clothes, so everything was exactly the same size with no creases.

Incredible! 58 years ago today I joined the army aged fifteen and a half. There I met my mate John in the IJLB, there for more than two years, then Royal Green Jackets. Reunion at Winchester, holiday in Kefalonia Lifelong friends

Once we were soldiers. Great weekend in Oswestry for the reunion of the Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion. Old men now, in the 60’s & 70’ we were 15,16,17 year olds setting out on a military career - in some cases very distinguished.

We will be up at sparrow fart tomorrow morning. On a 0930 flight from Brum airport to Fuerteventura for a week of all inclusive sun and relaxing at this adult only hotel. Not been here before, but it looks OK.

I have received some very sad news today. My very first CSM, WO2 Ray Ironmonger, later RSM of the Cheshire’s,who was my mentor and good friend passed away this morning in hospital. He was a true gentleman. RIP Ray.

Exactly a year ago today I lost my best mate. Harry kept me company and sane. He was my companion and always a joy to have around for fourteen and a half years. Still think of him everyday and miss him. RIP Harry, till we meet again.💔
