Here's an idea, instead of sitting in your car for 2-3hrs to get into and out of Mahon Point, why not put on a pair of boots and a rain coat and go into town? If you do get some rainwater on your skin, fear not, for we are a waterproof species.

Many radio discussions about bicycles in Irish cities pose the question of space in our old medieval urban centres. It's rarely asked why are vehicles permitted in such spaces or what happens when you return the space to as originally designed. 📸 Alcúdia 🇪🇸

Make sure to keep a record of all your Councillor, TD, and Senator's supportive posts today about the €600m investment in bus lanes and cycle lanes in Cork for when they oppose them once the drawings are released.

The urban design is a lot of the 🇫🇷 towns we're passing through is top knotch. Such attractive streets with lots of trees, planting, flowers, public toilets, art, and seating.

In my opinion, most of the damage occurs away from the roads. In occurs in people's arteries and cells. We don't count the man who dies of heart disease in his 50s, denied the option of active travel because his government invested all our tax money in networks to move cars.

Bicycle parking at a major stadium surrounded by cycle infrastructure that hosts matches, concerts, events, etc ought to be better than this. #CorkClimateNeutral

Very concerning to see nearly every bike lane I passed today in @corkcitycentre abused by illegal parking. These vehicles are a hazard and come at a time when record numbers of people are using bikes in our city. @CllrDesCahil @Tfitzgeraldcork @BadParkingCork

After a really progressive 2020 and 2021, it looks like many indicators for the work to make Cork a bike friendly city are not good. 🧵

There's a lot of things to address in this Op Ed but the main claim by Michael McDowell is that the Chief Executive of Dublin City Council does not have a mandate to reallocate road space in favour of cycling. Where would such a mandate come from? 🧵

The architecture IS very similar. I note the in the Danish version there's a pedestrian street with outdoor seating and boat moorings. We get 3 lanes of traffic and a 1m footpath. And concrete to follow soon.
