Someone this morning gave me an odd stare when I told them not to open both doors on the pickup at the same time when it’s windy. Please tell me I’m not the only one that had their ass chewed growing up when all the stuff would blow out of the cab. 🤷🏻♂️
In HS if someone offered me $15/hr to come clean stalls I’d have been here every night after practice. Now no one will even consider it. Times sure have changed.
We lost her the first day of harvest in 2011, and I don’t step in the combine without thinking of her. She worked in agriculture her whole life, around men...but most days she worked circles around them.
A tip for late night road hunters. Ranchers usually have a bigger spotlight than you, a truck thats already dented, and more than one gun in the vehicle. Choose wisely who you trespass on. 😎

PETA can say what they want about ranchers, but this girl slipped on the ice a week ago and can’t walk due to a pinched nerve. We brought her indoors out of the weather, hand feed/ water her everyday and use a hip lift twice /day to help her recover. They truly are our livelihood

I’m really amused by the young generation that tells you their goal is owning a farm/ranch operation someday, but they only want to work 8-5 with every weekend off. Good luck.
I get sincere enjoyment out of spraying coyote urine on non local hunters ground blinds/tree stands who feel the need to place them on our fence lines or park in our driveway without asking. 🦌
It’s the year 2018, standing in a corn field less than 5 miles from Verizon tower, where the grower can get high res images of crops and let his tractor and combine drive itself, but can’t make a freakin phone call without parking on a hill and no decent internet options.
It’s rewarding to watch a 1st time Mother do exactly what nature told her to do. You save some, you lose some and it’s hard not to each one personally. When you see something like this, it’s a good reminder the sleepless nights are worth it. Nevermind the photobombing Hereford.
These pictures are just a few of the original homesteads on our place, many eventually replaced the sod house with a wood structure which are still standing. The lack of trees is so different from now.
Car full of Lincoln people pulls into Broken Bow gas station when there is a south wind. All 5 people unanimously cover their nose and say “this town smells like s***”. All 5 get back in and leave immediately. That’s how you keep out the riff-raff. 👋🏻 😆
After going through one of the worst spring calving seasons I can remember, seeing results like this makes it worth the effort. Great grandpa started his shorthorn dream in 1919, and would be proud to see what it has become.
