My grandmother was illiterate, worked as cleaner from age of 9. Mum left school at 16 to dedicate her life to her family. I got my PhD at age of 26 & my work has been recognised internationally. Those two magnificent ladies have been my true inspiration.

After 3 yrs on the run, #covid finally caught me. What shocked me the most was my sister in law’s reaction when I told her- she was so ecstatic 😳. I then realised she thought that was a pregnancy test (Ps: for the non Lebanese, Mille Mabrouk = 1000 congratulations!)

The relationship between #oil & #geopolitics has significantly evolved since the first oil shock. Geopolitics cannot be viewed in isolation of other market fundamentals - supply losses? Demand growth? Spare capacity? Ignoring those aspects often leads to simplistic conclusions.

Not surprisingly #WhiteHouse didnt welcome #opec + #oil production cuts announced yesterday. But reaction more tamed than last yr when group announced bigger cuts. Back then #US warned ‘there will be consequences’. From my interview with @daniburgz & @mattmiller1973 @Bloomberg

In my 20+ yrs experience in #oil #gas #mining #taxation , I continue to see resistance from many resource rich governments to keep #fiscal regime simple & stable (though understandably not cast in stone). A well-designed #tax system can automatically adjust to changing conditions
