Gas and oil are vital pieces of the puzzle when it comes to Africa gaining its independence, growing its economy, transitioning to renewable resources, and thriving as a whole. We should abide by our own schedule, not by the timelines of already prosperous countries. #energy

Right now, we can't bear the high up-front cost of installing solar parks and wind farms. Right now, we don’t have the money to subsidize solar and wind power. Right now, we still don’t have the climate financing they’ve been waiting since 2009 to receive. Now is the time.

Another depressing moment in #Cameroon . Arbitrary detentions should be a thing of the past. Rebecca is a friend, a sister and a very strong person. She will not give in to intimidation or be bullied and she needs to be released immediately. Let her go. #FreeRebeccaEnonchong

NOPEC is a bad 4 Oil. It is disheartening to see a country like the United States that is simultaneously responsible for innovation while proposing legislation that undermines innovation in places overseas. #OOTT @energy_african @OPECSecretariat

Today at the #G20 HRH Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Saudi Arabian minister of energy made a strong case for eradicating energy poverty. Africa needs more energy, more productivity, more prosperity. The focus should be having affordable and reliable source of baseload dispatchable

At #OPEC you always see good things. Great investment discussion between #EquatorialGuinea Oil Minister @GabrielObiang and his #Russian counterpart @novakav1 about signing an interesting deal with Russian Oil Companies in 2019. Lets see if Russia makes a play in Africa. #OOTT

Imagine if this was an African country or company; imagine the international community’s response. It wouldn’t stop with penalties and expressions of concern. Not only would the company be fined, but the management teams would be fined and in jail.
