Matthews has 51 goals, no empty net goals, and 36 of them at even strength. To put that in perspective. Number 2 on the list, Reinhart, has 39 goals total 13 of them are even strength. Auston is just in a league of his own for goal scoring. It's not even close.

As #LeafsForever assess HC options, roster decisions could begin soon after a coach is hired. I'm told they've expressed interest in bringing back Tyler Bertuzzi. However, one player not likely back is TJ Brodie, who's expected to test the UFA market.

NHL players in their prime, do not take pay cuts. I get why people may want that, but it's not a thing.

Thoughts on the #LeafsForever deadline acquisitions so far. Lyubushkin - Not what we needed, but an okay fill in I guess. Dewar - Didn't even know he existed, but I think he fills a hole Kerfoot left with more physicality. Edmundson - Still do not get it, probably won't...

Honestly not that fussed by this loss. The #LeafsForever were by far the better team. One bad shift in the first was really the difference, well that and Shesterkin being ridiculous. At least they got goalied by perhaps the best goalie in the league. Bring on the Lightning.
