#AcrossTheSpiderverse
is out TODAY!!! Here are some screencaps of some scenes I worked on that made it into the trailer! I’m so grateful to have worked with such an incredible team of artists on this film— go watch it this weekend, you won’t be disappointed!!! 🕷️🕸️
I feel insane. Palestinians in Gaza are posting calmly worded final messages, accepting that they will likely die as the invasion of Rafah commences, and people on this website are debating policy & word choice, or ignoring this horror entirely. My soul is shattering. SPEAK UP
The occupation is heavily bombarding Rafah now, evacuating eastern areas, and Rafah crossing is considered part of these areas. Our chances of survival in Gaza have become slim. It seems that fate has decreed for us to die in Gaza.
Perhaps it's the last picture.

Nora, a nonbinary Palestinian lesbian tells their and their family’s story. They’ve lost count of how many family members have been murdered since October.
@actupny
just saw that bigoted post by a certain well-known animator, so i thought now would be as good a time as ever to reiterate that trans folks deserve to live their lives with dignity and respect, and it’s the duty of all of us to protect them— now more than ever ✊🏳️⚧️
jack black turning on kyle gass for joking about a fascist dying is a perfect illustration of how hyper individualism + the capitalist obsession with wealth/power slowly destroys our community connections & sense of morality.
I boarded on this movie for most of the pandemic, and I truly can’t wait for everyone to see how much love SO many talented artists put into it!! Get ready y’all 🕷🕸🔥

we are watching the extermination of an entire people, in real time. how do you think you’d be reacting if your family was in these tents? your children? how can any of us retain our humanity if we allow this to continue, or worse, manufacture consent for it with our silence?
BREAKING : Israel is dropping bombs on tents full of civilians in Rafah right now.
Entire Palestinian families are being massacred, but Western media wants us to be concerned about students peacefully protesting against this genocide on US campuses.
this week has been such a stark reminder of how artists are routinely expected to create masterful work, on demand, often at the expense of their personal lives, and at the same time are given no respect or consideration in return. we all deserve so much better.
I think entertainment value is pretty underrated in the critique of films. Did you enjoy yourself? Did the movie make you feel something? That’s a success in itself
Storytelling is truly intrinsic to the human experience —so try not to be discouraged by these corporations as they stumble over efforts to monetize it. The world won’t always need corporate power structures, but it will always need your stories. Please keep telling them.
being a woman or person of any marginalized identity in a story room is so exhausting sometimes. I really wish more men in the industry realized how much easier it is for them to express their opinions and have them immediately respected and accepted by their peers. I can't 1/
The United States is threatening the International Criminal Court if it dares to go after Netanyahu or his government for committing a genocide the world has watched happen live for over six months. This is very very bad, y’all.
NEWS
The International Criminal Court is being warned by members of Congress in both parties that arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials will be met with U.S. retaliation.
Legislation to that effect is already in the works.

the animation industry really just kept going through this whole pandemic as if everything was normal. that's not necessarily a criticism or an endorsement, i just find it really wild
Dog Cop 7: The Final Chapter is out today with the

The short is filmed in the style of Katie Mitchell’s movies, and it explores her relationship with Jade after the film!
If anyone is interested in how their romance ends up, I highly recommend it 👀💕🏳️🌈
THIS. Not only is this a stellar example of how communities come together to protect/help one another during a crisis, but it’s also proof that what these riots are about isn’t just violent nonsense. The system must be broken down, wealth redistributed, and justice served.

If your production schedule requires people to regularly work overtime in order to meet basic deadlines and milestones, then it is fundamentally broken.
This is incredible - there are a group of pilots who are offering to help transport anyone in the continental US who may need reproductive and/or gender affirming healthcare but can’t get it in their state. More info @

I don’t generally love twitter job call out posts, but in light of what has happened this past week: I’m currently looking for board artists for a cinematic adult television show. If you’re a board artist who may have recently been let go: dm me 📝
Our government just vetoed ANOTHER ceasefire resolution at the UN. Do not be fooled by their handwringing and posturing— they are doing everything they can to perpetuate this violence.

Every Hollywood union member should listen to these words from Amazon union leader Chris Smalls on why labor unions have a duty to show solidarity with Palestinians. Our struggles are not separate, & courage to stand up when it’s uncomfortable is not only needed, it’s necessary.
i visited this encampment a couple days ago, and it did not look like this. It was organized & comfortable, and people were very conscientious about keeping spaces clean. this “trashing” was done by the police, full stop.
CAMPUS 'TRASHED': Garbage, tents, water and old food were seen littered in UCLA's quad area as KTLA's Annie Rose Ramos made her way to Royce Hall, which was also vandalized with spray paint and messages such as “from the river to the sea” and “Free Palestine.”
Watch Annie's
after six months of atrocities that the world will never unsee, they’re now using Palestinian’s empathy for their dying children & community members against them, in order to commit even more mass murder. SPEAK UP— if not for Palestinian lives, for the survival of your own soul.
Local sources: Israeli quadcopters in Al Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza broadcast pre-recorded voices of people and children calling for help to ambush residents and force them to leave their houses then they open fire at them.
Kind of telling how many male creators/directors think it’s okay to write/tell the stories of female characters and then stay silent while our real world rights are stripped away.
Studios claiming that girls don’t watch animation when they’ve been catering all their content specifically to the “boy” demographic for decades really is something
I truly don’t understand how anyone could look at the weather conditions in the PNW right now and think “individuals can change this with their energy habits”. We are so SO far past that - if huge corporations don’t fundamentally change how they operate immediately, we’re doomed.
Working from home 2-3 days a week sounds great. Doing it full time forever might destroy me. Being able to casually talk story and see what other artists are doing around the office is vital to my ability to understand context and stay engaged in the work.
I’ll never understand artists who create stories about oppression, resistance & liberation while simultaneously ignoring the plight of those actively experiencing it. who are you telling these stories for, if not for the living who are—intentionally or not—reflected in your work?
Streamers, networks, and theaters aren’t meeting audience demand for animation, according to new data from Parrot Analytics. Demand for animated content has doubled since 2020 while supply has failed to keep pace.
i’m ashamed. it’s clear the US and israel planned this timing so americans would be watching the SuperBowl. i’m ashamed to live in a society that not only allows this brutality to happen, it turns a blind eye in the name of its own entertainment and comfort. shame on us all.
The BlueSky folks deserve so much better. Hoping the LA animation industry uses its new remote hiring abilities to bring these people onto their current productions. There’s no excuse for all those talented people not to have work moving forward.
The police didn’t stop them because they’re all on the same team. At this point if you can’t see the relationship between Trump’s supporters, the police, and the deeply rooted white supremacy in this country, then you’re being willfully ignorant.
I swear to God if the writers of Game of Thrones decide to take down both of these powerful queens in favor of a boring ass “woe is me I don’t want to be king” dude who didn’t even kiss his dog goodbye, I will burn the seven kingdoms down myself.

Seven national trade unions and 200+ labor unions have formed a coalition to press for ceasefire. American labor has always been deeply political & played a significant role ending South African apartheid. Worker solidarity has ALWAYS been about standing for human rights for all.
i am disgusted by a society that doesn’t prioritize stopping a genocide. i am disgusted by the violent policing of legitimate dissent. i am disgusted by an industry that abandons solidarity at the first hint of personal risk. if this is who we really are, i want no part in it.
Being a good director isn’t about exerting your will and forcing a team into a box that you create— it’s about utilizing their skill sets, trusting their expertise in the job you hired them for, and knowing when it’s time to communicate vs. when it’s time to listen.
people who hate on artists and call them elitist can't fathom passionately pursuing a craft for years or cultivating a deep and informed understanding of one, so instead they cry "you're gatekeeping!" while staring at a site full of free art guides and tutorials.
Hard to overstate what a devastating moment this is. When I was 21, I became pregnant while in a deeply unhealthy relationship w/ someone struggling with severe addiction - abortion allowed us to separate and heal. I’m heartbroken for every person who will now be denied this care
The Supreme Court has voted to strike down Roe v. Wade, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito and obtained by POLITICO.
“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Alito writes.
even count how many times i've been in a story room and given a valid note, often agreed with by multiple people, that was met with "good idea, but -insert reason why they don't want to implement the note" only to hear the same exact note, sometimes word for word, repeated by 2/
This Mother’s Day, may we recognize the humanity of all the mothers in Palestine, Sudan & Congo who have nothing to celebrate today, because their babies & their lives are being ripped away from them. May we reject apathy & fight for them the way we’d fight for our own mothers.
a man a few days later, and have it lauded as a genius idea. I've even had it happen to me IN THE ROOM - where i've said an idea, and an (often older) man in the room will repeat what I said as if he came up with it, and him get the credit later on. It happens so often, 3/
Confidence is a skill that not everyone is taught growing up. Teaching myself to be confident in my voice & work has been an insane uphill battle, but every time someone resonates with what I’m saying it feels worth it. If you struggle with this, I hope you know it’s possible.
how do you watch countless shows and films like Andor, with painfully clear parallels to what we’re witnessing, and STILL believe that you’re not a citizen of the empire? or worse yet, that the empire has any interest in changing to save anyone?
I think the biggest mistake people in leadership can make is not understanding that respect is earned, not given. You show people that you deserve respect by treating them with dignity and kindness first - not the other way around.
and so naturally, that I'm sure most of them don't even notice it. the men who are giving the notes are so used to their ideas being accepted and praised that they don't even realize that they're stealing from people around them who have less power, and those on the receiving 4/
more men in power are really, truly willing to look at themselves and speak up on behalf of marginalized people in those rooms, I'm afraid progress will continue to be slower than it should be.
So the Biden administration mobilized a 10-nation coalition to go after the Yemeni Houthis (whose people are also experiencing humanitarian catastrophe), bc they’ve been intercepting ships in protest of the genocide in Gaza. All this while funding and supporting said genocide.
BREAKING:
The US military has announced a 10-nation coalition against Yemeni Houthis in the Red Sea.
Only one Arab country, Bahrain, is part of the coalition.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE rejected the US proposal to join.
and if you correct someone, or you work harder to be heard, you're often met with the age old "they're difficult to work with" or "they have an attitude" so we're stuck either way. either we just keep letting it happen, or we get branded as a detriment to the work. and until 6/
Continuously heartbroken for all the skilled & incredible people whose livelihoods have been affected by the mishandling of a company they were asked to trust. That trust is now completely lost, and I hope other companies take note & don’t repeat their mistakes.
end are so used to looking to men for solutions that when someone else gives them a good idea, their bias and/or their ego automatically shuts it down without even considering that they might be silencing someone in the room with something to say. 5/
Dropping hundreds of artists and employees during a pandemic who work tirelessly to create the content you make massive profits off of is some next level evil
yesterday my therapist said this: 'while obviously this is a devastatingly stressful time for those without jobs, i don't think we're asking enough questions about what's happening to people who have had to work full time throughout this experience.' and wow i felt that.
The Flour Massacre. A massacre of over 100 starving people, with severe injuries to 760+ more, who were desperately seeking food for their dying families. There is literal drone footage of it. If you’re not speaking up now, I truly wonder what humanity you have left.
Love waking up to texts from my family that I’m ruining the Christmas plans by staying home, meanwhile several of them are unvaccinated / immunocompromised, and have been in contact with people exposed to covid 🙃

Such an underrated show and episode. Knowing this was an actual recorded conversation that Duncan Trussell had with his mother as she was dying of cancer makes it that much more special and impactful.
Wow y’all,

‘s Pinocchio is so heartbreakingly gorgeous. The design & filmmaking were deeply thoughtful in their execution, but beyond that — the small, observed character moments really stole the show for me. Everyone in the audience was sniffling by the end. I loved it.
The ACLU is suing the Biden admin for implementing immigration policies that violate human rights the same way the Trump admin did. At what point do folks stop participating in this song & dance? Biden is not the lesser of two evils— he represents the entire evil establishment.
BREAKING: The Biden administration just announced an executive order that will severely restrict people's legal right to seek asylum, putting tens of thousands of lives at risk.
This action takes the same approach as the Trump administration's asylum ban. We will be challenging
Can we encourage the ai folk to start generating content with Disney IP? Maybe then we’d at least get some decent legislation that protects against infringement
Motaz’s uploads from the last couple of hours are horrific in a way that is so chilling, my brain cannot even process the reality of what he is documenting. That these people are live streaming their own executions while we do nothing is an indictment of each and every one of us.
I loved SO much about Nimona, but one of the most successful aspects to me was the overall pacing, & the timing of a lot of the jokes/emotional moments. They contrasted quick comedy with longer beats, and allowed important moments to BREATHE— so refreshing and inspiring.
#nimona
some people here need to learn that there’s a huge difference between what you read online and what’s really going on irl. stop harassing good artists who have other real world professionals vouching for them - at best it’s embarrassing and at worst it’s legitimately harmful.

we’ve all witnessed brazen war crimes committed by netanyahu & the IDF, often shared by themselves with pride, for 7 months—now, our majority dem congress is sanctioning the international body responsible for holding them accountable, while still funding their crimes. disgusting.
