Of course, agreement should have been reached sooner on a pay rise for local Government staff. @theSNP councillors and @scotgov tried to achieve that but @ScottishLabour and @ScotTories council leaders frustrated those efforts, voting @COSLA against raising it from 3.5% to 5%.

Or - Scotland planted over 10,000 ha trees for 2nd year in a row. 10, 860 ha or nearly 22 m more trees, over 40% native woodland, 81% UK total. At least 1000 ha that likely would've been planted, couldn't be because everyone in forestry rightly went into #COVID19 lockdown.

On a very early train to #COP26 in #Glasgow and it's like a mini United Nations with negotiating officials, exhibitors, participants, workers, even state and nation representatives on board. A lot of people putting in a lot of hours to try and get a good outcome.

After 49 years with the Clydesdale Bank, the last evidence of its long existence in my life is gone, with the switch off of the banking app. So I'm switching off too. Another Scottish institution consigned to history and I've no desire to be a Virgin Money bank customer.

It is 53 years since my parents were married and 8 years since mum survived a severe brain haemorrhage. And getting to do a family zoom call to mark both milestones and talk and see everybody was just wonderful. Small pleasures often the best ones #StayHomeSaveLives

First walk of the #NewYear done. Out at 9am, over 21k steps, just over 9 miles along the North Rhins coast, with stunning views of Loch Ryan, Alisa Craig and Arran. A great way to start 2021.
