Breaking-T has a whole new series of Tigers apparel available with designs from "Clutch Kerry" "Parker Meadows Robbery" "Roar of '24" "Pitching Chaos" and many more links here.
Andy Ibáñez, 31 year old journeyman from Cuba, who didn't break into the major leagues until he was 28, and is hilariously the elder statesman on this young Tigers team, comes up with the knock of a lifetime. God I love baseball.
Hall of Famer Alan Trammel, a Detroit Tigers icon, received a special champagne/beer shower from the Tigers after they clinched a spot in the Division Series.

A Monmouth University Law class submitted an 82-page document to Rob Manfred explaining why Armando Galarraga’s outing should be switched to a perfect game, per

Should the call be overturned?
The Tigers are playing the saltiest brand of veteran hard nosed baseball I've seen here in a long long time. Just outstanding stuff. You feel this, Minnesota??
Whatever you think of voted awards, or batting average now, nobody has 2 MVP, Triple Crown season, World Series ring, 500 HR. 3000 H, 599 2B, career .310 average. Miggy's resume is outrageous.
There it is!!! Jason Foley finishes the job, and the Detroit Tigers are going to the playoffs!! A 17-6 run in September for one of the greatest stretch drives in the history of the game! We're happy and now we want more.
Something new I learned today: If a

player hits a ball into the glove, without fan interference, everyone in Metro Detroit gets a free Hot-N-Ready pizza from Little Caesars.
Mark Canha came pretty close to feeding the people with his grand slam.
All year long we were calling Andy, Barry Bonds against lefties. Then he faded badly down the stretch. And then, when it mattered most he comes up with the biggest hit of the season. Holy freaking cow.
AJ Hinch is just a diabolical strategist. Iced Gerrit Cole for two innings on a cold, windy day by having the Tigers play godawful baseball. Playing the long game.

The Detroit Tigers pitching situation may seem chaotic at the moment, but in the last 14 days here's how the Tigers rank
ERA: 2.08 (1st)
FIP: 3.07 (2nd)
K%: 25.6 (7th)
fWAR: 2.2 (3rd)
A beautiful ending to Jim Leyland's celebration. He thanks the Tigers dugout, hugs AJ Hinch, & *I think* the Bally's Sports Detroit mic picks up a quick, perfectly on-brand message to his former team, all set to Tina Turner's Simply the Best in the background. 😂
Listen closely:
Video tribute to Miggy featuring Albert Pujols, Adrian Beltre, Wade Boggs, George Brett, Rod Carew, and other 3000 hits club members welcoming him to the club. Really cool. Chills all over.
Spencer Turnbull of the

could be a potential trade target for a lot of teams. In 2021 he is 4-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 46.0 IP and a .266 BAbip. He is only 28, and under team control until 2025. Detroit may not be too inclined to trade him, but interesting nonetheless.

Since returning from Toledo on July 5, Parker Meadows has a 158 wRC+, hitting .327 with two homers and five other extra base hits in 54 PA. Very, very small sample but good to see.
Daily reminder that the Tigers could sign Correa and trade for a catcher and their payroll would still only be $115-120M going into 2024, with Skubal/Mize both back in the fold.
If this is Casey Mize's last outing of the year, he'll finish with a 6.99 ERA in seven starts. Still plenty of reason to believe he will be a really, really good MLB pitcher. Also fair to say no one is more disappointed than Casey Mize.
13 games straight without allowing more than 4 runs for the Tigers pitching staff. Pretty good considering they have one established starting pitcher, albeit the best pitcher in the American League. This coaching staff is killing it.
With Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, and Aníbal Sánchez poised to star in the World Series, let’s look back at the legacy of the 2012-14 Detroit Tigers teams that taught us that sometimes a super-rotation isn’t enough.
