i interned at google, and it was the most unserious place i've ever worked.
full grown adults playing in ball pits, going down slides, and sneaking their family of 10 in to get free dinner.
someone should make a dating app where an LLM clone of you goes on thousands of dates with LLM clones of other people, and then your matches are when the LLMs decide to date each other.
you can literally build this right now.
@ass_hatchet
one time i was stuck in a meeting room with a very large dog that couldn't stop farting.
i mean, just ripping big ones, one after another.
Have you ever used a food delivery app to order a meal, but noticed a much higher end price than when you started searching?
This is called “drip pricing” – and it adds up.
My Administration is working to end this practice and other junk fees that rip consumers off.
all ai pins internally + a small number externally are now running gpt-4o!
still early, but so far lots of great improvements:
14% decrease in latency
28% shorter answers
33% fewer bad answers
beyond the numbers, everything just feels smarter and more accurate (as expected)
my life dream, since I’ve been 5, has been to work at Apple.
but I’ve also always dreamt of starting something of my own.
after 4 years at Apple, today is the start of my second dream.
mind blown right now.
bought this accessory that makes the vision pro actually wearable and massively increases the field of view
used to get tired after 15 minutes, now hours pass by with no problem.
one size fits all.
ugly as hell, but wtf.
Dynamic UI ✨
Ai Pin fetches information from the internet and composes it into a UI that makes sense contextually.
i.e. these displays are not "coded" by employees, explicitly.
Imran gives us a few examples: a flight, a sports game score, and a stock price.
(12/14)
also this hopefully goes without saying, but the magnitude of technical innovation needed at every level to bring this to reality is staggering. engineering at apple is world class.
designing AR to augment reality not distract from it:
"Unlike other AR applications, our system requires little-to-no explicit input (e.g. gestures or voice commands). Instead, the system primarily uses the actions of the user as input..."
in the future, ai will improve the products you use, before you even have a chance to leave feedback.
to that end, i’m excited to announce
@dawnanalytics
, which i’ve been building with my best friends
@snarkyzk
and
@alexisgauba
here's the talk I gave at yesterday:
designing unbounded products
lessons from vision os, good/bad ai product examples, thoughts on the future, and more below 👇
After sitting with our legal team to parse through the fine print of Apple's DMA announcement (that took a while), which is, at best vague and misleading, I wanted to share my thoughts.
While Apple has behaved badly for years, what they did yesterday represents a new low, even
5) when asking ai pin to send a text for you, you can also ask it to modify the tone. in this case, it added a "can't wait!" at the end.
for all the talk of vr dystopia, this really didn't land well for me.
Fun fact: Oculus Quest Pro weighs more than Apple Vision Pro!
But on Quest Pro, much of that weight is battery BEHIND your head
Weight distribution matters. A lot.
dating a pretty girl has opened my eyes to the extreme inequity of pretty privilege
her checked bag was 8 pounds over and they just let it slide.
absolute insanity.
I think you should buy a Vision Pro if you:
travel a lot
live alone + don’t have a TV
are a professional that works with media (e.g. movie producer)
OR you’re an early adopter with a lot of money
you should buy a Quest if you like Beat Saber + have a tough stomach.
one more thing to clarify -- the team behind humane is insane.
I think great teams can make bad things. I don't know that ai pin is a bad thing, but there are seemingly bad things about it.
It’s really odd how Microsoft is launching Word and Excel on the Apple Vision Pro App Store on day one but Apple doesn’t have a native visionOS version of Pages and Numbers yet.
curious why we designed visionOS the way we did? (and how you can build beautiful apps for the platform?)
check out the Principles of Spatial Design talk.

if I ran
@peta
, I’d be investing every cent in training an LLM for animal to human communication.
imminently possible for many species, game over for carnivores.
im honestly just eating as much meat as I can before pigs start speaking to us

my favorite part of this was when he holds up the “hardware” box as proof that he definitely prototyped this a long time ago and isn’t just ripping off
