Interesting take by that resident. I’m chatty and friendly because I treat my patients like I would like my family treated in a hospital. Competence has nothing to do with kindness, maybe they need to work on their bedside manner
As I reflect back on the past 8 weeks I feel immense gratitude to the residents and attendings of
@UCincyIM
and
@CincyMedPeds
for their guidance, encouragement, and kindness. Going to carry this

with me through all of my rotations

What prompted the tweet was a really awesome note from speech language pathology. I wish I could have expressed my appreciation without messaging them
I’m 0 for 2 on convincing patients to consider getting a Covid vaccine, but I’m going to keep trying.
Patients deserve to get questions answered and concerns addressed somewhere other than Facebook.
Congratulations to all of the M4s that found out they matched today!! Thank you for sharing your joy on Twitter, it’s good motivation knowing there’s light at the end of the Step 1 tunnel
I’ve never been much of a runner, so running 10 miles this week is sort of a big deal for me. Thanks to
@mattyfred_
and
@sierrahajdu
for encouraging me to push past my comfort zone

Hit my hundredth case/procedure logged of residency this weekend! It’s been a fast-paced five months, excited to see what the rest of intern year brings 👍🏽
Just got my schedule for my surgery rotation: Acute care service for four weeks, vascular for two and transplant for two! It’s starting to feel super real, grateful for the light at the end of this Step 1 tunnel.

‘s two episodes on critical care, they’re a good basis for ventilator settings and some of the different resuscitation strategies and need-to-know stuff. Helped me through my M4 SICU rotation a lot.
Talking to our mom this morning over breakfast,
@sabrinamalkoun
and I were reminded of how lucky we are to have the opportunities that she did not growing up in the civil war in Lebanon. So grateful for the sacrifices my parents have made to allow me to pursue my dream career.
Big shoutout to family medicine doctors and all that they do for their patients - in the week that I’ve been on this rotation I’ve seen sports medicine, prevention and health maintenance, neurologic, psychiatric, and OB/GYN visits. Cradle to grave is no joke
Grateful to have received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning. Looking forward to a future where we can see our families and friends without fear
Reflecting today on the privilege of caring for patients then being able to leave the hospital and go home when patients aren’t able to go home themselves. The toughest role in the hospital is that of the patient
Listening to Fall Out Boy in the car and definitely just said “A loaded Ghon complex, cock it and pull it.” The end of the semester can’t come acid-fast enough!

The best mental health intervention of the first two years of med school is incorporating the delay cards button which makes the guilt better
