We took time over the weekend to further confirm our work and make sure we were right.
In the end, we were beaten to the story by half an hour – but our work still goes to show the power of open-source investigative methods in journalism. (6/6)
We took our first step on Friday when we spotted a video of his, apparently recorded in a supermarket.
On the shelves, we quickly noted all the packages were in Greek. Combined with all the prices being in Euro, we knew he was in Greece or Cyprus. (2/6)
On Friday evening, Robinson appeared on a livestream with Alex Jones, a prominent far-right figure.
The background of his video showed his bedroom in full focus – a perfect match for the rooms in the resort we had identified. (5/6)
After looking at the photo galleries of every hotel on their website, we finally found a gym that matched.
And after looking at over 2000 images from visitor reviews online, we felt even more confident – he was at a resort in the scenic town of Ayia Napa, Cyprus. (4/6)
Our next big break came when he posted a video of himself in a gym.
We found elements in the video unique to a specific resort chain, operating hotels in Greece and Cyprus.
We have elected to not name this chain. (3/6)
After nine wonderful months helming
@TheStudentPaper
, it's time for me to hand the reins to the next generation of Student journos. The amazing Lucy Frewin
@frewinnnn
will be taking my place as Editor-in-Chief, and I can't wait to see where she takes us!
I am unsurprised to see so many people unfamiliar with our journalism confused by our newspaper taking the correct stance.
We will not platform hate. We know our real audience, made up of students in Edinburgh - many of whom are marginalised by this film - will appreciate that.
Regarding tonight’s screening of “Adult Human Female” on
@EdinburghUni
campus.
@TheStudentPaper
have taken the editorial decision not to cover the event as we do not believe in platforming the harmful rhetoric that will undoubtedly affect many of our student readership. 1/
So excited to announce that I'm taking over from the venerable
@lucy__jacksonx
as
@TheStudentPaper
's Editor-in-Chief from Monday! I can't wait to carry on from her great work and continue our long history of keeping Edinburgh’s students informed and engaged.
Immense congratulations to everybody at the paper over the years who have gotten us to this point, especially the current EiC team who have turned us into something incredible -
@TheStudentPaper
is in an amazing place and I can't wait to see where we go from here!!
Two marches are meeting George Square, the main march from Kelvingrove Park and a smaller protest which departed Queen's Park south of the Clyde around noontime. Both will continue together down High Street and on to Glasgow Green.

One of the editors here - we thought it was a valuable inclusion because it could be used at some point as a staging area for Russian-aligned forces.
After over six hours of results, our election trackers
@ScotNational
are still going strong - we're just in wait for the last four Scottish seats to be called. Tap below to see the state of play - and who your new MP will be.
Exc from me - concerns have been raised after we found 39 Orange marches will pass close to Catholic churches this summer, with 29 passing right by them.

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I'm writing for The National newspaper about the flight disruptions caused by the storm and would be interested in chatting with you -- if you're keen, please shoot me a dm or email me at the address in my bio. Thanks!
Marchers make their way down High Street towards Glasgow Green. Josh, a Glasgow resident, told me he's "never seen anything like" today's protests.

Hey, one of the editors here - the photo attached to the map is from its state a few days ago, we haven't been able to quickly find a way to change that photo. The up to date map shouldn't have a blob, so it looks like the version you can see is accurate and up to date :)
The front of the march is now making the turn from Sauchiehall Street onto Kelvingrove Street, from where it will proceed through Glasgow city centre.

Can anybody explain what "reviewing the graduate scheme" means? Thousands upon thousands of people have made long-term decisions around trying to find work after uni on this visa. It would be utterly shameful to see it go.
Yesterday's march was peaceful, and today's seems similar up until now. However, a protest action by Extinction Rebellion members on 4 November ended with an alleged kettling by police services in Glasgow.
#COP26
Protestors are still waiting for the all clear to go. The staging area in Kelvingrove Park seems to be at capacity, with marchers overflowing into Argyle Street.
#COP26
It's a gray morning here in Kelvingrove Park, as an expected crowd in the tens of thousands rally for a
@Fridays4future
led march to George Square set to depart in twenty minutes.

Another morning, another rainy day in Glasgow. An estimated 50,000 people have gathered here in Kelvingrove Park in preparation for a march to Glasgow Green, in protest of inaction of world leaders at COP26 and in support of more radical action against climate change.

Hi Stephen, I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I'm writing about the flight cancellations for The National and would love to chat with you -- could you follow so I can DM? Thanks!
Though headlined by Fridays for Future, there is a wide range of activist groups and other movements set to participate in the march, from Glasgow-based community support groups to faith organizations.

Greta Thunberg, the last speaker of the night, takes the stage in George Square. She is speaking critically of the convictions of the world leaders assembled in Glasgow.
"This is no longer a climate conference, this is a global North greenwash festival."
#COP26
One real difference from today's protest compared to yesterday is the police presence. Both amidst the marchers and along the route, the number of police officers seems several times greater than yesterday.
#COP26
Estimates for turnout for today's march sit in the low tens of thousands, with a protest march tomorrow - the Global Day of Action for the Climate - set to draw around 50,000.
#COP26
The gathering at the stage on Glasgow Green seems to have been impacted by technical difficulties, with an area reserved for indigenous groups being filled with protesters and a portable stage failing.
#COP26
The march is scheduled to end in George Square, however public safety officials have told organizers that the end of the march may be moved to Glasgow Green if the crowd at the rally point keeps growing.
#COP26
The protest march is set to start from Kelvingrove Park around 12:30, heading to Glasgow Green via Kelvin Way, Argyle Street, St Vincent Street, Pitt Street, W George Street, George Street, and High Street, before arriving at Glasgow Green.

The march has reached George Square, where a stage has been set up. Chris Mitchell of the GMB trade union is speaking, leading the crowd in a chant in support of striking Glasgow bin workers - "Stand with us, not against us!"
#COP26
The groups set to be involved in today's march are wide ranging in ideology and belief, from biodiversity and cycling activists to trade unionists and Extinction Rebellion activists.

A representative of the COP26 coalition, a group involved in planning today's march, claims that between 150,000 and 200,000 people marched in Glasgow today, and half a million across the UK.
#COP26
Todays events come on the heels of yesterday's somewhat smaller Fridays for Future march, which saw many primary and secondary school students skip class in order to attend. Today's march is set to be the largest single protest action during COP.
