Regardless of if you love or hate the new government, I can’t help but think that Labour squandered the last 3 years. They basically had an FPP government, able to do anything they wanted without any checks or balances…and they didn’t do much.

I hate you Jacinda Ardern. Another week in lockdown even with 80% vaxxed. Maybe some retail shopping in a weeks time, but still no haircuts, no leaving the city, no movies, no restaurants/cafes, no further announcements on schools. FFS. So condescending, so much spin.

About time we talked about this. This should be part of the covid review. I believe this will have ramifications for years to come. Closing the schools was a terrible idea. Everyone says "well in hindsight" but many of us were pointing it out at the time

I saw some jobs advertised at the Ministry of Education. They start on double what a teacher starts on, to do office work. Having done both types of jobs, the salaries should be reversed. No way should they be starting on over 100K to do admin.

In rural Karaka, they added rumble strips on side roads for about 300m leading up to intersections with the main road. They are EXCELLENT at alerting the driver that they’re coming up to a stop sign. I believe these should be installed all over rural NZ. They would save lives.

The thing about the media and people who oppose the anti-mandate protesters is that they focus on a few fringe crazies, to delegitimise the entire movement. That means they can ignore the many well reasoned, logical arguments by ordinary people who have been stigmatised.
