You can continue to pick up free RATs until 30 Sept from participating pharmacies and RAT collection sites as listed on Healthpoint From 1 October 2024, if you need RATs, you can buy them from community pharmacies and retail shops such as supermarkets.

Patients will never be turned away from an ED, regardless of the code a hospital is in, including when hospitals are in code black. ED uses a colour coded system (green, amber, red, black) to manage the flow of patients. This status changes through the day as demand shifts.

COVID vaccines remain free & available to eligible people aged 6 months and over. In April, Pharmac received funding for the ongoing purchase of COVID vaccines/therapeutics. If Pharmac were to make changes in future it will publicly consult first.
