South Oval this morning. A university is a place where ideas are expressed, exchanged, and debated. When administrators meet the peaceful expression of ideas with violence, they have fundamentally betrayed that mission, their students, their scholars, and the institution.

Last night’s attacks by the CPD on the citizens of Columbus took an ominous new turn. Leaders of the protests were singled out and arrested on BS charges like jaywalking. Police arrested people not for crimes but for exercising their rights as citizens. Let that sink in.

Sad to see The Garden leaving High St after 25 years. Colorful, helpful, exuberant, risqué, locally-owned, and massively community-focused. One of the last things that kept the Short North from being just overpriced bars and restaurants for tourists and suburban day-trippers.
