Could be the absolute worst performance in rush hour from
@GNRailUK
yet. There are 2 trains currently heading to Kings Cross from Peterborough and one from Cambridge. That’s it. Morning Rush hour!! appalling
Feel sorry for
@Virgin_TrainsEC
twitter team, no matter how many times the say no trains to and from Scotland..people seem to get confused. How is beyond me! There are NO trains!
,
Incredibly sad news again as trains are at a stand yet again between Grantham and Newark due to person hit by train. To my knowledge that’s 4 people in a short space of time in that area. Mental health is so so important
#LNER
This will cheer up. all my followers and any fans of

. Mark Carne, boss of Network Rail has been honoured in Queens Birthday List with a CBE. Haha talk about rewards for failure...
Should be a big shout out to
@LNER
train crews last night, absolutely horrendous delays through no fault of their own, would have had to endure marathon shifts with irate customers. The last trains got into Newcastle at 0540 and Leeds 0455, that’s a very long day for those staff
1E18 1400 Edinburgh to Kings Cross departs Newark. The penultimate southbound
#LNER
#HST
service 43257 and 43318. Will form the last ever northbound service from London at 1935
@TrainDriverIan1
Was watching two late running Mendip stone trains on Friday that they let run in front of the 1703 Pad to Penzance express, all the way from Newbury to Westbury, didn’t even loop one at Woodborough, put half an hour delay into it. Mad.
Anybody out watching the
#FlyingScotsman
use a bit of common sense and stay behind fences in safe place. You wouldn’t stand on the motorway to see a classic car so why do it on live train line. You screwing the whole railway up currently near Tamworth
#FlyingScotsman
is the lead loco on this afternoons trip to Edinburgh. Mayflower is the second. Leaving York at 15.42 travelling up East Coast Main Line. Please stay in a safe position behind fences and well away from platform edges. Definitely doesn’t need a repeat of Sunday
@BenAndo
@IntermodalityUK
@BTP
Those type of “trespass” incidents often refer to suicidal individuals, like at Carpenders Park this morning and at Leeds a few weeks back. It’s the new railway code. These are just people that should know better, someone is going to get seriously hurt watching the Scotsman
@LNER
@jasonmarkcook
You may get some “constructive feedback” on this 😁😁😁. Very hard uncomfortable seats I am led to believe, and yes I know it’s not LNER that chose the seat but the DFT.
@Captain_Deltic
@RailDeliveryGrp
@GNRailUK
To be fair they do have more certainty. They are more certain that trains will be cancelled, short formed, overcrowded and altered at the very last minute!
Some absolutely incredible delays on the East Coast Main Line today. The infrastructure failure is happening far too frequently now, and is severely damaging the
@LNER
brand. 1230 Kings Cross to Edinburgh 7 hours late, 1300 similar. Absolutely scandalous
#LNER
@willowsafc81
Train’s bit more than broken down. Catastrophic engine failure they say, which ruptured all the fuel tanks bar one. Major damage, they will be without that train for some time
@GNRailUK
@tarmac_xx
@TLRailUK
Seriously? You’re telling people from arlesey to London to travel to Peterborough some 40 plus miles away, when there’s Hitchin or Baldock just down the road?
@eugill
It’s a complete mess, either Grayling or Horton lying about being told they were ready when it was clear very few drivers were trained to operate the timetable, it’s only been decades in the planning.
@harriso13319709
@LNER
43257 and 43318. historic too as 43257 was part of the very first set 254001, and 43318 was part of very last of the initial ECML order, 254032
#FlyingScotsman
leaving Inverness shortly to run down through Highlands to Bo’ness. If you are out watching it at all this weekend stay safe, well behind fences and well away from platform edges
You can see by what is happening now why the train companies advised no one to travel this afternoon. Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross services all at a stand at various points
#railchaos
@GNRailUK
The engineering work is affecting fast lines, as I understand, at West Hampstead on the midland main line, that has nothing to do with the Peterborough and Cambridge services which in the main come out of sidings at those 2 places!
Anyone out watching
#FlyingScotsman
on way back to York today, please use common sense, don’t be an idiot and stay in safe place behind fences and well away from platform edges. There are fast trains and heavy freight trains all along the route today. Be Sensible..
For those
#GNRailUK
travellers that follow this account, just been reading from a driver that they expect today to be a shambles, tomorrow to be better than previous Mondays but still maybe cancellations then from Tuesday to be far more reliable. Time will tell..
@RAIL
Looked tremendous, never did I think when I was watching them replace the Deltics, think I would get nostalgic for them when they were gone, but what a train, what service they provided
@GNRailUK
@beseku
This appears to be a fleet problem not a single carriage. Reading through your timeline there’s many people complaining on different trains. New trains, do the drivers know how to operate ac? If they do there’s a fundamental problem
@catretriever
@GNRailUK
That’s Grayling then he is in charge of Dft it is their project, if thameslink were telling that dept there would be problems then he and they could have delayed implementation. Better that than the current shambles which is affecting thousands of people
@catherinerusse2
@doctoremma
@DawnSpinks2
@TLRailUK
@transportgovuk
The whole Thameslink timetable fiasco is the DFT pet project, that’s why they not doing anything. They spent billions on it and it’s failed so far. It was always going to be tricky where delays miles away could cripple network. Lack of preparedness was appalling
Overhead power switched off at
#Grantham
due to yet another reported fire on a
#HullTrains
unit, 2030 from Kings Cross. 1830 Edinburgh to Kings Cross due 2330 is at Newark. 1936 Edinburgh to Kings Cross due 0103 has been allowed to leave Doncaster now, running 72 mins late
#LNER
Horrendous delays last night at
#Dunbar
. Trains arriving into Edinburgh 5-6 hours late.
@networkrail
have lot to answer for, letting trains leave Berwick and be stranded for that long
#LNER
Today’s huge timetable change on Great Northern and Thameslink services doesn’t appear to going well, lots of cancellations tomorrow’s rush hour could be very interesting
#GNRailUK
#GTR
@marilliona
Her train will be arriving into Peterborough in next 5 mins. There’s a Norwich bound train approaching Grantham now so will be in Peterborough around 8.20
@soulmanhove
@GNRailUK
@ericstewart1972
Why? If the guy thinks it’s waste of time, and he knows what they going to reply why bother tweeting them in first place. Their twitter team are definitely not your enemy for the crap service you’re all suffering. Turn your ire on DFT, Govia and your MP.
Parting is such sweet sorrow. 😢
On Monday 22nd July after thirty years of service, we bid a final farewell to locomotive 91108.
The final workings this weekend will be;
09:22 King's Cross to Newcastle
13:15 Newcastle to King's Cross
18:00 King's Cross to Edinburgh
@seatsixtyone
Light engines checking route..one just left Edinburgh heading south and another just past Alnmouth northbound. Once they report back I assume you could move
There’s a broken rail at Dronfield affecting southbound services, which are getting diverted via Barrow Hill. This may (emphasise May) affect the
#FlyingScotsman
which could also get diverted...and miss Sheffield. Will keep eye out
