Over 2 million people went to the coliseum in 2014. This was the 3rd year in a row the team went to the post season. Before that run they had been bad for 5 straight. What did John Fisher do? He tore the team down for 2015. Attendance never got over 2 million again.

I am neither mad nor sad. This @Athletics team took me to Japan and was the heartbeat of the best summer of my life. I went to 70 or so games for the 1st time & it was amazing. They’re set up to be absolutely deadly next year & I am excited to be there for it.

From 01 to 65 the A’s had 100+ loss seasons 15 times. From 1966 to present it has happened once. 1979. It would take a miracle run to avoid it this year. Attendance will finish around 750k. The worst non-pandemic season since Finley tore the team down. Fisher must be very proud.

I came back here only to say that this unanimous vote by MLB ownership should be read as the massive “FUCK YOU” to every fan and city who hosts a team that it was meant to be. They will throw your team in some dark corner where it’s destined to fail just to prove a point.
