The ultra-feminist comic book industry/media guy who regularly trashes the Bad People but turns out to be no saint himself has been a very very active trope within said industry/media for a long long time. And my strongest advice to such people is John 8:7 & Matthew 7:3-5 ❤️

I’m curious how many here have heard of Entenmann’s Cakes? Is it mostly a Northeast U.S. phenomenon? These were omnipresent in my childhood. (Pictured are my two faves, Crumb Cake & Louisiana Crunch)

A number of people in charge of Comics & Comics IP on both the publishing & movie/tv level honestly don't care if all these stores close. Period. Because they think they're *above* "all that." Because after a while...some see this as a "class" issue. A social class issue, though

Originally, DC/WB brass balked at this Wonder Woman design for being too “off-model.” Darwyn threatened to quit the series unless it was kept the way he initially rendered it. (Source: me on the phone with the artist at the DC offices)

If you’re a comic book creator/co-creator Bob Kane is the textbook example of the type of person you need to avoid. A person that will claim credit for your ideas & proactively rewrite the entire “legend” of the creation of a character so you’re forgotten.

@karasoth Everybody (publishers, editors) wanted me to write “feminist” stories & characters. And all I wanted to do was write Wolverine or Joker or whatever the f**k. So I felt like I was being placed in the public arena like a “sacrifice” just for the controversy. And that sucked.

In my second year at DC, the sales for Supergirl were way down & they were considering cancelling the comic. I noticed a comp of Gen 13 on my desk featuring the art of Ed Benes, and suggested to the mgmt that they put him on Supergirl b/c it would give the character a fresh look
