I will finally publicly admit, April 19th of 2016, I did in fact paint the batters boxes two feet forward at our home field to deal with Andrew George's changeup. We scored 3 in the first before opposing HC noticed. Won game & next day the conference championship. I do apologize.

Bat testing in college baseball... pointless. Within 10 minutes of receiving the testing equipment and the bat stickers, we had a way around it. I'm not saying that we did work around it, I'm just saying that we knew how, and so did many others we played against.

As a college HC I walked to a home plate meeting 436 times. My players had a record of 288-0, my record was 0-148. 148 times I couldn't get out of their way! Never did lose to a HS postgrad team or a 4 year JV team though, so that's a feather in the cap.

I interviewed w/ the NY Mets one time for on field coaching position. At time I was winningest JC HC in the state of Florida. The 3 who interviewed me were Ages 24, 26 and 29, all w/ Econ degrees and had never coached a day in their life. Maybe they're all the next Peter Brand.

Every college baseball game I ever coached, there was probably a combined 55-60 players in the dugouts. Maybe 6-8 coaches. Love and respect lots of those coaches, but I was doing it all for the players.

@HPBAac I disagree with your opinion, I had 40+ players drafted in 9 years as college HC & I actively looked for guys that were playing or had recently played sports other than baseball. Especially for a position player, I looked at athleticism & overall potential when recruiting.

Very few exceptions to this: Programs that consistently win have an administration and coaching staff that know rules, guidelines and levels of enforcement front to back. They know the letter of the law so they can operate their way around restrictions.

"We'll be there." We don't have to talk coaches into attending our events, we hit them up, give them the schedule and they typically say this. We are run by college coaches. We know exactly how to set it up and exactly how to evaluate the player and individual.

In March of 2010 I started a showcase team, in 18 months we went from 1 team to a 9 team org. How so fast? Easy, our yearly schedule was filled with PRACTICE as opposed to running to a tournament every weekend. Stopped running it after being named youngest college HC in FL

It’s a junior college, it’s typical for yearly rebuilds. Yea I’m sure the staff is doing good and again I am rooting for them, but stop publicly acting like the program wasn’t already built, I didn’t even mention the only three years I was there we won 40+ games and only three

Can’t compare signing bonus & position anymore bc MLB changed their structure. Less teams, less players, more enforcement of IR spots. You’re no longer a ‘piece,’ if you get drafted or sign, you’re an employee & they invest in you more than bonus. Sign if you want to play ball!!!

X is the worst of all of the social media platforms, and it's not close, but I'll carry on folks. Adults complain about young gen having too much of a voice or 'not knowing' but those same grown folks don't know a sneeze from a wet fart. Maybe it's my algorithm I don't know.

@JC643DP Time is just so much better served in small group settings, regardless of age. Any time I hear a parent tell me about their child getting 1on1 lessons, I know I have to prepare to work and educate them on why that does not carry as much value in long term player development

This last weekend at our event in the mountains of PR, every coach will attest: Lightning struck right next to the field. All coaches started to jog off the field, not a single player moved. Someone said, ‘lightning struck you don’t get off the field?’ … ‘Nah that’s a US thing.’

I left on June 22nd of 2022 and there were HUNDREDS of baseballs, literally hundreds. Now, gameballs, no, there were none, because they had all just been used as planned for the season, that’s normal. Check the picture of the storage room, how we left it. And no players?

I love introducing one of my former players from say... 2014 or 2015 to one of my former players from 2021 or 2022. They have this immediate bond, I can see it, it's almost tangible. It's like they're both acknowledging, 'Yea we both know what this guy knows so we're cool.'

My last three seasons at FSW my record on the field was 129-47, against other FL JC's it was 119-47. I never lost a game against a non-FL JC during that time. I still think FL JC is the best brand of JUCO ball, but my question is, who are y'all playing?
