Dear Congress: We need a stable tax code. Can we stop with the massive changes every time one side wins control of government? If tax professionals can't keep up - how on earth can regular taxpayers figure out how to voluntarily comply?

I know people want a tax deadline postponement this year, but it is a bandaid. The real issue is IRS funding: less staff, 40-year-old technology, barely functional customer service. Can #TaxTwitter use its collective voice to help fix the real issue?

Depreciation and cost recovery deductions aren't "loopholes". I buy an asset for $10k, I get to deduct $10k, either up front or over time. This is no different than any other business expense.
