Today I wake up with a 20-year-old son who has graduated his one-year treatment program after a six-month addiction to fentanyl. He is faith-filled, employed, housed, joyful and excited for the next chapter of his life. He wanted me to share his message of hope. We are grateful!

The homeless system is completely devoid of accountability— frm the individual level, to the non-profit level, to counties/CoC’s, to @GavinNewsom , to the feds. Thus, I am not sure why this is newsworthy… or surprising.

Proposed amt spent on system capacity building-- decorative overhead-- is virtually equal to shelter/encampment (~$4M for each). @austintexasgov staff have proposed doing more of the same-- nothing new-- and in an unrealistic timeframe based on their performance history.

1/5 Ann is one of the ‘secret campers’ I met last week. She worked as an infusion pharmacist for 20+ yrs. Approx 7 yrs ago, her husband suddenly passed w the dying wish that their only daughter would go to college/graduate debt free. This was the path they were on… @TPPF

3/4 Tyler has seen many current neighbors fall into “the trap”, returning to the camps after receiving permanent housing where they can use and where no counseling is available unless requested... which rarely happens given that the majority suffer from Anosognosia.
