It met the standard set up by an ill-conceived law that was promoted by a fringe special interest group with a vendetta towards public education.
I am a little dizzy from the schadenfreude.

7 kids for 9 hours should merit some serious cash.
I get it if the babysitter offers to work for free as a way to show they honor the decision to go to the temple, but for the parents to make that judgment call on behalf of the babysitter is just bizarre.
Standing up to racism at a sporting event would take courage, no doubt.
It's probably one of those things that you need to decide to do before you enter the doors, not in the heat of the moment. Decide now. Write out your script. Be ready because you'll still probably be scared.
@ElijahSchaffer
Maybe she was just trying to get home to her 8-year-old son, Kevin, that she had accidentally left home alone.
Hopefully there is a Polka band available to drop her off in Chicago on their way to Milwaukee.
Let's just make it a rule:
No one should ever reply to a post made by a recruit or current college athlete with anything other than support or encouragement.

It'll be good if the Jets can get Zach Wilson's backup QB to return from injury before the season's end just as an insurance policy.

I'm sorry that you were injured during that robbery at 7-11. Well...some of the blame is on the choice you made to get a Slurpee instead of a Icee or Frazil.

He knew on Jan 6 how bad it had almost gotten. He was shaken, and now we know the role he played "14 hours a day" in assisting Trump.
I wonder where that version of Mike Lee is sometimes. It shows that he knows better.
I don't take anything in the rivalry seriously or personally, except one thing:
The idea of BYU fans taking over the Huntsman Center.
Unacceptable!
Let's fill the HC with red!

I feel like there are basic dignities like same-sex marriage that the Church could stop fighting against, and that such small moves would not harm the church.

Completely agree with the sentiment!
This ain't really a both sides thing though. This is 1000% a weird right-wing obsession, clearly laced with misogyny

How are they under attack?
He's not free from the possibility that people would disagree with his views and would in turn use their free speech to express their disagreement. I fail to understand how this equates to religious views being under attack.
Another radical, extremist view from Mitt Romney. Factoring "character" in a decision for deciding who should lead. Also, having principles and voting based on those principles rather than the party-line.
@KSLcom
Interesting world we live in when elected officials are disappointed when the highest court in the land rules in favor of federalism and fair elections.
@OliverCowd
I'm curious about the reticence to be more transparent. It seems like a no harm proposition. One of those things in which people would make a big deal about it the first couple of disclosures, and then soon, they'd stop caring.
Some say being a sports fan is lunacy, and often we see that proven out. But being a fan creates a community. And having a community to lean on can help us get through the tough times. Right now, I feel for my Utes. Another devastating loss of life.
RIP Aaron Lowe.
@JamieFrotein
I am sorry for what you have to deal with.
The Stuart Adams comments were so infuriating. Only in Utah do real estate developers become the arbiters of history.
@DavidDJJames
Donovan is such a good player and produced some really good moments as a Jazz player.
He also spoke up about things that mattered to him, and seeing certain folks get triggered by his opinions was good to see.

Mad respect for the adult learning to swim at the same pool and at the same time as my kid. Every other student is 6 or under.

Man complains about footage being specifically selected to support a narrative by specifically selecting footage to support a narrative.
The missionaries dropped by spontaneously at about 8:15 PM Christmas night to share a message.
I appreciated their sincerity and goodness.
I remember those cold Wisconsin nights well.
Hopefully I stored up some karma for my kids should they serve 😁
My son came out of his room right after Yassmin's TD (I screamed loudly) and humbly asked if he could watch the rest of the game. I said yes, and told him to grab his older sister too.
We danced around the room after each Utah TD, big play, and the win. Great memories. 🥲😁
@StallionCornell
It's disappointing. It doesn't dispute the merit of the report or the details of the case. It just reinforces that the Church knew and chose not to act. Also, criticizing the AP feels like the wrong approach. The "fake news" angle will fire up some, but it feels cheap.
@DB_cUTEpper
What a gutsy win for Utah. On the road. Backup QBs. Banged up RBs. Defense shuts them down in the second-half. Literally 100 degress. So many reasons for that could have been an L.

I love the line "It was cathartic. It was beautiful. It helped me to process three decades of constant onslaughts of homophobia that had nearly convinced me I was irredeemably broken and undeserving of happiness."
This is why I'm trying to be an ally. Everyone deserves happiness
I've been surprised and dismayed where Christianity has looked for its heroes over the past several years.
Meanwhile, it seems like amid the tumult, the Carters have been quietly and humbly serving.
@jandmplus6
I'm feeling so petty tonight. Just luxuriating in the pettiness. I would happily serve Draymond Green his crow in whatever way he prefers.
My understanding is that he like his crow headlocked, kicked in the groin, hit in the neck, and stomped by a foot.
I was my high school's mascot my senior year. Before the school year started, they held a pep rally for the little league football at the high school. When I arrived, a couple of photos were taken, and high fives were given.
It took about 5 minutes for things to get violent. /1
@EliMcCann
I understand the appeal of having an answer for everything, and even some references to back it up. But, life, and people, are much more complicated and beautiful than that.

Utah voters tried to provide input on the redistricting process, were given a pat on the head for trying, had our ideas completely disregarded, and then were told by our leaders that we just needed to try harder.

Shame on the Trib for using math and statistics (i.e. witchcraft) to arrive at a reasonable conclusion. Reckless. Irresponsible.
I wrote an email to my legislator. I got more discouraged as I wrote the letter realizing how much Utah lawmakers are doing without seriously considering the voice of the people. It is as if they think they just need to buy us off with a bribe. It takes effort to stay involved.
@VoteTrevorLee
If you proposed a constitutional amendment as you desire, it would be destroyed at the polls. The majority of Utahns do not share your callous and unfeeling view of immigrants.
I encourage you to go and meet with immigrants in your district.
@PMforUtah
"As your representative, I will fight for your sacred first amendment right of free speech, provided that your views perfectly align with mine."

I am grateful that you received the answer to not run for Senate. While your actions since being elected AG would fit in line with the current crop of misguided and cynical senators, they do not align with my values and what I want for Utah. All the best.

From my observation, it was always about building Tim Ballard first and foremost. Anything else positive that would happen was a byproduct.
@equitybruin
Utah beat 4 top 10 teams, and they were probably the 6th best PAC 12 team this season. Unbelievable regular season battles this year.
An absolute shame the conference is going away.

Sorry to see you go. I try to give hyperbole a wide berth, but you are right that the ostensible defenders of the faith on here are some of the worst bullies imaginable.

I didn't think the rebrand was all that bad until I saw this hat, Bryant.
While I've always appreciated your love of Utah and the Jazz, i'll understand if you move back to Texas after this 😂

I'm not too bothered by the psychic bit. Channeling Nephi is a little out there, but you do you my man. A messiah/savior complex is a bit more problematic.
It's the lying and misrepresentation that has permeated Ballard's career that gets me.
