This photo was taken by a friend of mine from the top of Sliabh Ban on Tuesday evening.
In the far distance you can clearly see Croagh Patrick which is 80 miles away.
Incredible.
I know several people who watched six live GAA matches this weekend and who have told me that it's the happiest they have been in months

I know it's not a big deal to anyone who is used to regular exercise but I have just completed my 100th day in a row out walking (45-60 mins). It's a big achievement for me - but I don't think I'll get to 200!!
@lockdown
Dublin won 8 All Irelands in 11 years playing possession football yet when Roscommon do it for 5 minutes and 40 seconds everyone is up in arms. Dry up people.

I'm deeply shocked and saddened at news of the sudden death this morning of Conor Connely. I had a pint with him only three weeks ago at Tom Lyon's party. He was a great footballer and a lovely. Deepest sympathy to his wife and family.
@RoscommonPeople
September 23rd 2006. The greatest day following or reporting on Roscommon GAA in my lifetime as 20,000 Rossies decamped to Ennis for the All-Ireland MFC final replay. A lot didn't even get to the match. A day that I shall never forget.

Dennis Buckley makes his 200th appearance for
@connachtrugby
this weekend against Benetton. It's as fantastic milestone and hopefully he will be there for many years to come.
@RoscommonPeople
I know there are far more important things going on, but the old programmes I put up here have been viewed over 350,000 times in the four weeks since I started. Incredible.

@RoscommonGAA
Marvellous tribute to Conor Connelly this morning. Hundreds gathered along the roads of the county as the family passed by. He will never be forgotten.
@GAARoscommon
Reporter to Shane Lowry - What are you doing for the evening? "I'm going to Limerick with the lads to see Galway and Mayo. Should be good craic" Good man Shane!

On one of the worst nights of weather I have ever been at a match another brilliant performance from Roscommon minors. Connacht champions!!!!

The Roscommon players gave me a hard time tonight having predicted a Mayo win.... all in great fun an great craic
Never was I so delighted to be wrong. They are all a credit to our great county. One of the greatest wins we ever had
#MayoVRos
Very disappointed with Sunday Game coverage of Roscommon v Leitrim. A long speech from Joe Brolly about a tier 3 championship and no analysis. If Roscommon are beaten by Mayo there will be loads of insight you can be certain.
#SundayGame
The best of luck to
@bcarroll17
as he takes over as Roscommon GAA Chairman later this evening from Seamus Sweeney. Also best wishes to
@lthugh
who steps down as PRO after 5 years in the job. He has been an outstanding PRO

Sensational win for
@RoscommonGAA
one of the best championship wins we had in the modern era. Congratulations to Davy Burke and the players.
@RoscommonPeople
Needless to say that Sam McConkey was once again on
@TodaywithClaire
. He has a residency now. As Blackadder used to say "The most miserable man in Christendom"

One of the all time greats of Leitrim and Connacht football Pakie McGarty has passed away .I interviewed him a couple of times and a lovely man he was. May he rest in peace.

In over 30 years of covering Roscommon GAA games tonight was up there with any performance that I have ever witnessed. Quite unbelievable. Well done to all.

Roscommon have had a really good year. We came up against probably the greatest Gaelic Football team of all time today. No shame in defeat. Super memories of a fantastic Connacht championship win. Thanks to management and especially the players.

The people at
@clubrossie
have done an incredible job under the most difficult of circumstances and despite the loss of up to quarter of a million euro because of the GB problems they still stand to make a profit of over half a million in the

draw

Leadership means making responsible, reasonable, well thought out decisions. This is acting for the sake of it. I have been at 8 championship games in recent weekends and I never saw one thing that would be considered even slightly dubious when it comes to public health.
What's seldom is wonderful. Great day in Croker. Great company too. Nice to win a bit of silverware. Congratulations to the ladies team too.

@RoscommonGAA
Great win in the end. Good second half display. Almost certainly in Division One now. Sean Mulooly my MOM. Thanks to everybody in Armagh for their hospitality.

Now I know why the Dublin team felt they had to go training early. They knew they had to face Roscommon in their first game!!!!!!

If The All Ireland semi-finals are going ahead in Croke Park can the GAA not ask the people in NEPHET to allow the entire panel of players of each team and four family members per player to attend? Surely not too much in an 82,000 capacity stadium.

Just watched Saturday night's match again. A really controlled display. Never panicked at any stage. Bench was crucial. One of our greatest ever wins.

Sam McConkey on with Claire Byrne again tonight. Stand by for more doom and gloom. Why don't they give him a break for a couple of weeks?

The

Pat Spillane is really distinguishing himself on the RTE panel this year. Cork v Kerry (Cork no chance) now Dub v Meath (this will be close) . Time for the P45 methinks. Has had a good innings

A great day for Roscommon football. Well done to Anthony Cunningham and the players. The only unbeaten team in the country after the league campaign. Huge crowd in Hyde Park too. Fantastic

Six GAA games live this weekend on TV. Roscommon v Armagh, Dublin v Meath, two U-20 football semi-finals on Saturday. Galway v Mayo, Donegal v Tyrone on Sunday. Something to look forward to.

That was the best display from a Roscommon underage team in a number of years tonight. They were brilliantly prepared and coached, played with huge intensity and a super game plan. If they can repeat that display they will be hard beaten

Every good wish to Cathal Cregg who retires from inter-county football. One of the best we have had over the past 20 years and a hell of a nice guy as well. Thanks for the memories Cathal.

Listened to Stephen Donnelly on
@morningireland
on the reasons why the 200 outdoor crowd limit was not raised. Ridiculous answer about travelling in cars to the games given by the celebrity medics. At the same time there can be over 1000 people in a shopping centre
#madness
Paul Reid was paid 420k last year -678 of the HSE NON MEDICAL staff were paid in excess of 100k. Once again I say that it is very easy for these people to be appealing to the 600k who are on the PUP to observe the level 5 restrictions for over 6 months.

So sad to hear of the passing of Monsignor Charles Travers. One of the nicest men I have met - in any walk of life. If he doesn't go straight up the rest of us are wasting their time!! May he rest in peace RIP.

I have just heard of the death of my very good friend of many years Gerry Corcoran. We soldiered for many years in Rockfords and our friendship never waned over the years. He was a gentleman. To Ann and the family my deepest sympathy. May he rest in peace.

Keith Higgins was a mighty footballer. He broke Roscommon hearts more than once.A really nice guy too. I wish him every good wish on his retirement.

I was at yesterday's match in Kilbride between
@GaaCreggs

@staidans
- the sad passing of Creggs physio Oleg Doroshkevich after the game was a huge shock. My sympathies to his family and friends in Glenamaddy and to everyone in Creggs GAA. Puts things in perspective.

Dublin City Council are going to spend 22 million on a White Water Rafting feature and there isn't 1.1 million to keep Cuisle open. They don't give a shit about Rural Ireland and Roscommon.
@savecuisle
Thanks to all the great people who have contacted me since Friday last. There are some really sound skins around. 30 years of sports reporting on the radio wont end here. We'll be back.
