I absolutely loved Rapid Teload/Gunners Heaven. Super recommended for run n gun fans. It is not up to the quality of Gunstar Heroes, Metal Slug or Contra; but it is very enjoyable. It takes a lot from Treasure’s games with a spin off their own. PS1 (I now play it on my RG35XX).

I'm doing a deep dive on the developer from my most recent shmup obsession: GanaBlade, the COMPILE inspired #STG (link below) Turns out the developer, Liao Kai Kai (LKK) is a Chinese developer who has some previous fangames he's worked on.
