Arsenal fan since 1978, originally from England. A big U2 and Bruce Springsteen fan. I follow back anyone who follows me. Non-practicing solicitor (lawyer).
We picked up my son from his base and my other son is home too. It's the first time we are all together since October 7. It will be short as they'll go back on Saturday/Sunday. The camaraderie in their battalions is as strong as ever even though they are tired.
My son is out of Gaza for a week or so and should be home on Wednesday. We're hoping our other son will be out next week. There's a chance we could all be together next weekend. The first time since October 7๐
When my son was home last week from Gaza, I said it seems that there are weapons in every other house there. He said not in every other house but in every house. It's crazy the amount of weapons there.
My son phoned us from South Gaza. He said that in Khan Younis the houses there are villas. Those who live there are not short of anything. They are wealthy. I've also heard this before from Arab friends.
@miakhalifa
I thought you were talking about Lebanon. Palestinians cannot obtain Lebanese citizenship and are barred from owning property and barred from various occupations (including law, medicine, and engineering). That's the real "apartheid state".
@DavidM_Friedman
My sons who are serving in the IDF also confirm this to be the case. Almost every house has RPGs, Kalashnikovs, and other military equipment. Some of these houses are like villas.
My youngest son just returned from a 4-day Gadna in an army base. It gives them a taste of what the army will be like for them. He met many Beduin Arabs who want to be fighters in the army. They don't have to serve but want to do it.

@mishtal
I live in the North of Israel... I work with Druze, Arabs (Christian and Muslim) and there are Arab managers in my company. I shop in Arab towns..my house was built by Arabs. If there was apartheid I wouldn't live here
I just applied to register to vote in the UK for the first time in 9 years. Always voted labour in the past, but not now. I can't let a party who are institutionally racist into government.

@Arsenal
I never had a choice. My brother told me to support Arsenal when I was 8. He then changed to Liverpool but I was hooked. Through good times and bad
@theIMEU
This is a parody account surely? I live in the north of Israel and we are not allowed to kill wild boars even though they cause damage to land. You cannot control them, hence the name wild boars
@GOPIsrael
It's exactly what I understand. My son came home for a few days but wanted to go back and is now back in Gaza with his unit. Also, the camaraderie is very strong between them.
My son who is now back in Gaza told me that in most houses in the south, cooking is done via gas and not electricity, which is surprising. They found a lot of prescription drugs but many times cocaine and even found meth.
@HumansOfJudaism
As a kid growing up in the 70s/80s our holidays were always in Bournemouth. Rather than The Green Park we would stay at The Ambassadors or The Cumberland who also served kosher food. The Ambassadors had full board, serving cream cakes in the afternoon
@VividProwess
@agelender
Exactly. I asked my Arab friend who lives in Nazareth what she thought about Apartheid. She told me that she has experienced discrimination but it was definitely not apartheid.
@HACKETTREF
Also for Mitoma's first goal, he was pushed and it went on to the top of his hand. If you disallow the goal its only fair that its a penalty to Brighton
@scottishpsc
I have friends who are Arab and have worked with many Arabs. There are Arab managers in my last job. They would completely disagree with any apartheid analogy and wouldn't understand it. If you lived or visited the area you would know the truth
@AlwaysMyArsenal
I don't think there was any other choice. The only other way would have been for the international community to convene the UNSC, condemn what happened, and build a multi-national force. No country wanted to put their boots on the ground.
@Ibrahim69870560
I have a friend whose parents were born in Yemen. She was born in Israel and her kids are born in Israel too. They have nowhere else to go
@BaumanAlex
When my son was 3, the last thing I would do is get him to go up to a soldier with a gun. In England this would be classified as child abuse and the parents would be investigated. Is that what you really mean?
@theEpicGooner
It's easy to forget how broken the club was when he took over. Overpaid and expensive players, Xhaka wanted out, the fans split. We were nearer relegation than the top 4.
@AFC_Nadeem44
@TheFalseNein
Also according to Rob Holding, Ben White played the last few games a couple of seasons ago with his hamstrings gone. Respect
@ArsenalPresser
Great player for sure, but not an Arsenal legend. Same as Alexis. Legends for me are players such as Adams, Bergkamp, Vieira, Henry, Wright, etc.
@academic_la
This is extremely unpopular. Up to now I haven't protested against this government because I thought it's best to wait until the war is over for elections. This will change everything. A lot of people I've spoken to feel the same.

I live in Israel. I would say the vast majority of us believe it's the coverage of the international media like Sky News damages the image of Israel and fuels anti Jewish sentiment. If you have biased reporting what do you expect?
@israelmuse
While its very moving seeing these people attending the funeral, shame on you for making a policitical statement in the same tweet. Whether you agree or disagree about the protests today, some things go beyond politics.
@printrgoesbrrr
Obviously someone from Turkey whose country deliberately targets hospitals in northern Syria and commits numerous war crimes against the Kurds has no right to comment on anything
@FJ_Deen961
If people believe Christ is King I have no problem with it and it's their prerogative. I had no problem with people singing it at school. This is not antisemitism.
@LeGrove
Surely being a supporter means you always want your team to win regardless who is in charge. Even the darkest days of Emery I still wanted us to win
@DWPeedMyself
A vexatious complaint to the police and from what you are describing amounts to harassment. If the police won't consider your case, certainly a civil action may be worth persuing.
@MLewisLawyer
maybe able to help or at least point you to the right lawyer.

@sjabulhawa
Has to be a joke, especially as the palestinan flag was created in 1964. What was the flag before? Oh there wasn't a country...ever
@Ostrov_A
The feeling in the country is one of depression and desperation. There is a real depth of feeling here. The responsbile way is to announce a suspension of the reform and then set up a commission/inquiry about what reforms are required and if necessary a enact a constitution.
@AyoCaesar
Let's say there are approx 4m refugees. How on a practical level does a country absorb another 40% of it's population. That's the equivalent of 20m people coming into the UK. It's just not realistic. If you then say the Jews should leave you are just recreating the same problem.
As cease-fire begins and Gaza reconstruction returns to agenda, time to explain - again - that all such efforts are doomed so long as most of Gaza's residents consider Gaza to be not their home, but a launch pad from which to violently take "back" Israel:
@FmCatenaccio
@LeGrove
The game that changed my mind was against Chelsea. He held the ball up well and his link up play was impressive. He held his own against much more phyiscal players. He is only 22 and will get better.
